Default It's Wednesday and Spring has Arrived!

Morning Mates!
On Sunday I went snowshoeing over 2 acres of pristine white snow, then it rained and rained and temperatures rose and now everything is green!
It's like winter disappeared and spring arrived in 24 hours.
We know it's only a mid-winter thaw, and it ain't over yet, but it's nice to be teased with a taste of spring.....

It's work for me today, 1/2 day only, will probably go to the gym if I have any energy left. Tonight is Trivia night at the pub, so we'll go out to eat there too.
Have a good day all!

Good Morning Mates,
Well, like many of you we had a brief reprieve from winter. It is snowing again. We had enough last nite to cover all the green, and today we will have a little accumulation, with a few inches tomorrow.
The winds on Monday were atrocious, and kept my dh and his collegues out all nite. A few of the rivers in the state had ice jams and flooding. Never a good scenario.

Yesterday was my eye doc. appt. I had thought I would need bifocal contacts, but I get to wait on more year. I had an eye problem the week before - apparantly it was an infection of some sort, but he said it seemed to be healing well. Well must be the drops really aggreviated it, as now it is very unpleasant, again. So I will have to call and get the antibiotic drops, ick.
Tonight is Bible Study - so that is how I spent most of my day yesterday, once my vision cleared.
Things are busy, as always - I am trying to keep a sense of peace and calm around me....it is really hard to do that.

Sorry to hear about Fran's slow recovery. Prayers wil continue.
BW - hope the new doctor will be a better fit for your dd and yourself.
Is tomorrow your son's surgery?
Prayers for you all as well. Good for you, taking time for yourself and relaxing and watching some movies. You deserve a rest - you do so much.

RD I have always wanted to try snowshoeing, looks like you had fun. I would have to buy some warm duds tho - yes I know, I live in the frozen north, and I should have adequate outdoor wear - but I am so fickle, I always end up thinking it isn't very pretty, so don't buy it. I will send myself to the corner - lol.

I only have about a month 'til I cruise - wow. I have a lot to do before then.

Hope you all have a nice day

Good Morning CruiseMates!

Well today I woke up to a chilly 9 degree temperature. It should start warming up again after Sunday according to the forecast.

I have been a little frustrated by the discovery of mealybugs on my plants. I went and ordered mealybug destroyer beetles. The killers arrived yesterday so I put all the plants out in the sunroom and put a screen over the register and released them on to the plants. I really hope they do their job because I don't want to have to start over again. The beetles are supposed to die off after their job is done because they will run out of food supply. I am crossing my fingers.

I went and checked the local newspaper this morning as I always do. I was sad to see the Father of one of my childhood friends had passed away. He was an interesting fellow. He was full blooded Cherokee, he was unable to read or write, but worked for the railroad for many years until his retirement. He had a twin brother and the two of them were huge men that resembled towering redwood trees. But they were very gentle men who always had a kind word and a smile. They were also excellent horsemen. When I was a kid my parents bought my sister a thoroughbred horse appropriately named "Devil". The horse was about a year old and a complete nightmare and desperately needed to be changed from a stallion to a gelding if you get my drift. I strongly suspect that the owners paid my parents to take this beast, rather than my parents actually buying him. It took 7 attempts over 5 days to get him into the horse trailer and home, that includes the horse kicking the doors off the barn, the horse trailer, a stall and at least one attempt to have the vet come out and drug him. Finally my parents enlisted the help of the brothers to get the horse home and do what no one else could do. They were amazing, and they got that rotten old Devil home safe and sound with no problems and no injuries to the horse or human. I personally think they just picked him up and put him in the trailer.
The horse was always a Devil though, even after he was gelded. He would only allow my sister to ride him. That was just a sweet memory about him I felt like sharing this morning. Hope you all don't mind.

Today should be quiet, not much excitement going on here. I just want to get some more stuff done around the house and pack an overnight bag for d/s and I to stay at the hotel tomorrow night in Indy so we don't have to get up so early in the morning to have him at the surgery center at 6:00 a.m. ugh! D/D's appointment is tomorrow as well, so lots to do as usual.

I hope all is well with each of you. Prayers going out to Todd and Fran that she starts feeling better soon, Delft who I have missed and I hope she is hanging in there and of course Luanne who certainly is fighting the good fight, I think she could just use a hand from up above right now. Take care...

Good morning Cruismates,
A very cold 9 F. here in Chicago (R/D that would mean a warm day for you). It is sunny and that’s a nice a change. My sons school is doing a Haiti fundraiser today so the kids can wear jeans if the participate in it.
Think it’s a good day to stay in and make stuffed cabbage rolls for dinner tonight. B.W always sad to hear about people you know passing even if it was someone you knew from a long time ago.
Hope all is well with everyone. Enjoy your day!

Good Morning cruisemates! A couple of coyotes just ran past by patio perch.

Certainly an overcast day in Scottsdale. They're calling for some late day showers and a high of 65. Have a nephew in from Calgary, and we have a golf game booked. Just hoping we don't get wet.

Mrs. Kuki and I spent the morning arguing about which direction our patio faces Now I have to go buy a compass to prove she's right.
