Default Monday Sunny Monday

Morning Mates, from a bright sunshiney Caribou River. But don't let that sun fool you, the temp at the moment is -13C with a windchill of -23C, or 9 below F. Brrrr!
It's back to work day for me, although I don't know how I'm going to do it.
My back is not up to par, I still can't bend or get up and down from a seated position. I can walk straight at least, but my assistant is going to have to do all the bending and sitting stuff this week!
I've also come down with a nasty sore throat and swollen glands. Good thing I already had a doctor's appointment later today for something else, hopefully he can have a look at my throat and give me something for that!

Wishing you all a good start to your week and that you are all a little healthier than me!

donna

Hello Mates. Well it is back to reality for me, this time last week I was sailing in 70 degree weather ...today it is 10 F here ! What a change.
It was a wonderful cruise with only a few small clitches that were easily fixed. Had the chance to finally meet fellow cruisemates Nancy & Bruce aka nlb.
Todays plans are to get everything unpacked and laundry going. I hope to get the chance to catch up on reading last weeks posts to see what has been going on. Everyone have a good day.

Good Morning CruiseMates!!!

Donna hope the Doctor fixes you up good as new and you are feeling better soon.

Sue welcome home.

Things here are going well. I may need to drag d/s out for a while just to grab a few items... or maybe I didn't need that stuff as badly as I thought .

Well just got my electric bill which included the cost of heating the house during that really wicked cold spell. Everything is good and I am pretty happy that I didn't end up spending through the nose for heat. This was the first really cold weather we had since we put in the heat pump and we came out better than I thought we would. So far so good. I was holding my breath waiting to see how bad it was going to be .

Another couple of weeks and I am going to start thinking about spring stuff. Maybe get some plants started out in the sunroom if the good beetles have finished devouring the mealybugs on my tropical plants. Otherwise I may be buying all new plants and starting from scratch which will make me very sad. They are so beautiful when they are healthy. I suspect the ladybugs kept the mealybugs in check then when they died off, the mealybugs took over. In a bit I will go out there and check on them and see how hard my hired bugs are working.

D/S is doing fine. He is wide awake this morning. Sitting in his recliner, ruler of all he surveys. He is quite demanding lately, but he is doing well. In another few days I think maybe we'll venture out to go see a movie or something if it warms up. Thursday d/s will go for his follow up appointment and it should be close to 40 degrees which will be good.

Wish I had something more exciting to share like we won the lottery or we won an all expense paid world cruise, but for now we're healthy and happy. So, we'll count our blessings for that.

Prayers and positive thoughts going out to all of you in need. I hope this week is a good one for everyone.

Good Morning cruisemates! Sitting on the patio, enjoying my coffee, and watching the maintenance guys trip "my" putting green
It's nice to have such a beautiful and expansive back yard without having to mow it

Sun is shining once again, and temps heading to 70 once again. Some rain in the forecast again mid week, so I "ain't taken no chances" and going golfing today.

Drove up to Anthem with Mrs Kuki after brunch yesterday to the outlet mall, so she's pleased with her new shoes and tops. If she knew how much I spend on golf I'm sure she'd have bought more

Good morning from cloudy rainy, cool south Florida.

It's a good day to get some housework done and finish up the laundry.

All is well around here. Jake is back to traveling after being home a lot for the last few months. I miss having him around.

Beenie, glad to hear things are going well at your house, and that your son is recoverying so nicely from his foot surgery.

RD, hope you get to feeling better soon. The few times I've had back pain were the pits so I know how much getting rid of that pain means to you.

Sue, welcome back from your cruise. Glad you had a good time.

Kuki, my porch or Lanai (as they call them here) looks out over the 13th hole on the golf course. I know what you mean about having a pretty view to look out at. Enjoy your round of golf later today.

Prayers going out for Todd and Fran and all those who need them.

Phyll

My apologies for being so late but it's been a rather difficult day.

I know I'm continuing to be a crepe hanger but as I told everyone I'd keep them informed, I intend to do just that. Fran was even more fatigued today than she has been. We've both pretty much concluded that she's going to have to go back on chemo when she returns to her oncologist in a couple of weeks. Although she has no pain, she is absolutely exhausted two hours after she awakens. I need not tell you how she feels emotionally.

It sure didn't help either that we went this morning up to my cardiologist/cardio vascular surgeon. Although I was told my heart was back in sinus rhythm following an EKG locally, I couldn't understand why I was feeling worse and worse. Turns out I was still in Atrial Fibrillation. EKG machines don't always make it evident enough that a physician who doesn't dwell heavily into cardiology will always detect it, especially when the above the graph is printed that the patient is in sinus rhythm.

Then he personally explained his Cardiac Ablation recommendation (the initial notification had been from his nurse but Fran was in the hospital). He still want's me to go to the Cleveland Clinic up in Ohio (I say that because there is a Cleveland Tennessee). While he said that yes, there are electrophysiologists in the area who are great guys, the success percentages are far below those in Cleveland, if only because that is I believe, where the procedure was initially developed. He said if I absolutely couldn't or refused to go to Cleveland he's set up something locally but, (and this is a major "but"), his strong recommendation was the same were I to have been his own father. Jeff is not only a class physician, (I can only count on my hand (leaving out two fingers) the number of physicians I feel are as sincere and caring as he and I know A LOT of doctors), but he's a man of deep faith. That means a lot to me, especially since as I've stated previously, he recently lost his own baby daughter Kari to cardiac problems. If I do have the procedure, I have decided to follow his strong recommendation. Nonetheless, it all hinges on what happens with Fran.

Prayers of course continue as do a prayer for Blessings and I deeply thank all of you for your support.

Todd

Oh Todd that's no good. I wish she could get into the doc sooner. I feel so bad for you guys. If I didn't have a kid here with a bum foot, I'd pack the tribe in the truck and come down there to stay with Miss Fran and send your butt to Cleveland. That's not to say in a month or two when the weather breaks and I have the kid in a walking cast that you may not see a big old fifth wheel pulled by a Toyota Tundra full of one crazy woman and two kids parked in your driveway.

Do keep us in the loop and watch out for a woman driving a Toyota Tundra pulling a fifth wheel.
