Boy, I sure hope mid Atlantic cruisers, have already gotten to their port, to sail this weekend. They said, 1000's of flights already been cancelled early this am.
Amazingly, the other day, we heard Baltimore has had more snow than Boston this season, and that was before today! This one is missing us, except a dusting on the southeast coast....
This is where having travel insurance, takes some of the pain away.

I think even having the traval insurance would still be a huge disappointment if you had to cancel your cruise because of the weather and traveling to the port. Its the one main reason I really hate to book a cruise during the winter months in the Midwest. Just waiting a month or 6 weeks makes a huge difference....Oh, to be cruising soon, winter is just dragging on, but at least its Feb., and the end is in sight??
One of the reasons I decided to move to Florida was to get out of the cold and snow. I had never missed a cruise because of snow. I can well imagine the disappointment of those that have. I can remember several times it was snowing in Boston while we were waiting for our flight. Always lucky enough to get away before it was too late.

I usually fly two days before my cruise, and we allways get trip insurance. We do plan to move to Florida in the future. This particular storm has spared Connecticut, have have not had even a flake.

Yep we ALWAYS go at least a day early just for that reason. Yes it's snowing here right now in the Tidewater of Va,,,we have about 3 inches on the ground and it looks like a blizzard going on outside.
That doesn't just apply to snow, either. We always travel a day early for a cruise, this time just to San Diego. The rain was incredible and so were the gale warnings for ocean travel. Our ship left two hours late and still a lot of people missed the ship. Some folks had to fly to Hilo, our first stop in Hawaii, in order to board the Zaandam.
Wow! Flying to Hilo would jack up the cost of the cruise quite a bit.
