Boy Manuel, you were up early! Hope you win big in Atlantic City!

Yup, as I wrote on one of the Super Bowl threads, my congratulations to Venice and all others in the "Who Dat Nation." It truly was the first time I was not only not upset but I felt even happy when my Colts lost to "New Awlins." It was truly a game for the books.

Arose around 0345 hrs. darktime with just the idea of getting a drink of water and going back to bed. Our cat Felix has a nasty reflext habit, often when he comes out of a room and you want to guide him back in with your leg, he has a tendency to take a swipe and those needle claws can hurt.

Well this morning that is exactly what happened. Thinking nothing of it, I put him back in the bedroom and for no apparent reason, looked down. If Fran had been awake, she'd have had a coronary. it was exactly as if my lower left leg had turned into a high pressure paint sprayer. I stood there transfixed for about five or ten seconds simply as a result of incredulity and then realized this wasn't going to stop by itself. My slipper quickly filling with blood and the (thank God) tile floor turning into a red lake, I took off the slipper thinking I'd just make a couple of red footprints as I rushed to the sink and got a paper towel to stop it. No such luck. I guess Fran forgot to ask me to replace the used roll (they're stored up high where it's difficult for her to reach) and I had to get a roll from the laundry room off the sunroom.

Long story short, a good part of the hall to the kitchen, the kitchen itself and part of the sunroom looked as if it had been turned into a charnal house. I kid you not. I finally got the bleeding stopped and it took me forever to clean up the blood. Ergo, no going back to bed as I'm sitting here drinking my coffee as the washing machine is doing it's thing with what appears to be a bright red detergent with added bleach. Certainly hope this doesn't presage the rest of my day! To paraphrase an old country song, "I saw his bloody footprints on the floor."

Hope the work hours fly by for all those returning to work today and a fantastic Monday for everyone! Prayers of course continue for those on the list of course along with a request for Blessings on all.

Todd

Oh my goodness Todd, what a horror! I can completely understand your shock, the same thing happened to James once while I was at work.
We was in the bedroom and scratched his leg while putting on his socks and a vein burst.
He ran to the kitchen for a dish towel and the phone for emergency. The spray of blood all over the walls in the hallway and the floors from the bedroom to the kitchen looked like a murder scene. quite frightening!

He now wears compression stockings for those bulging veins in his legs.
I hope you are feeling OK now Todd, rest up today!

It is a very snowy Monday here in Pictou County. No storms, just a steady downfall of flurries since yesterday and we have accumulated quite a bit.
I will NOT be shoveling, the car will just have to drive out over it!
My back is just starting to feel better after resting all weeknd and I don't want to mess that up!
Temperature is at -1C which is a really pleasant 30F, nice for February.

Somerimes when things are set up to seem to make your life easier, you find out it's a lie The prescription center at my Drs office dedided to send my script to la lal land, and not to CVS. and of course I went to CVS Saturday! So, after calling this am, and being nice, when I really didn't want to be so nice, I will go out and include that stop again in my list of errands.

Todd, you have a good first chapter for a mystery, set in Tn Bring out the quill, and, get crackin

Good morning everyone from a snowy Minnesota.

We're having a good, old fashioned, "snow event". It's been snowing steadily, but not heavily, since yesterday. The total for our area is now forecast at 12". It's not bad since the plows and my snowblower can keep up with it. Blowing around our friends moving trucks is a pain in rear but, so far, it's OK.

Manuel: Have a great time in Atlantic City. I put two dollars on 12 when I was on Radiance and won. Maybe 12 is the number. Then again, don't take my advice because I am not a roulette player. I just did it on a whim.

Todd: If you are on blood thinners you need to get some coagulant in the house. That is an order!! The stuff burns like a SOB but it works. You don't need anymore "horror movie" effects.

Luv2: I'm not seeing a response time issue at this time. If it keeps up please let customer-service@cruisemates.com know. Also, check some other sites to see if it is just Cruisemates or all of your Internet connections. I am getting irritated at my ISP because my 2.5 Mb connection rarely comes close to that. Many times I have less than 750 bps connection speed. They just keep telling me "There is a problem in your central office. We're working on it." It's a pain when you have no real alternative for an ISP.

My cold is waning and I'm not whining. (as much) So I guess I didn't get hit as hard as Betty did. The only residual is that it's a little harder to blow snow than it was a week ago.

Well: I hope everyone has a fantastic Monday and a wonderful week!

Take care,
Mike (BTW: Congratulations Saints. Since you beat the Vikings I'm glad you won it!!!)

Good Morning CruiseMates!!!

Well we have had more than our share of excitement this last day or so too. We got a call from d/h's Dad in Canada yesterday. Apparently d/h's Mom suffered a heart attack Saturday Night. I was very proud of my FIL he did a great job and kept his head through it all and called 911 to get her the help she needed. They got her stabilized and transported to the hospital, where she remains. Now the Doctor is doing his detective work trying to figure out if her chemo meds caused a blot clot, or if perhaps the meds caused some nerve damage to the electrical impulse system of her heart. The cancer itself can cause the blood to thicken, or perhaps it is a good old fashioned blockage which we all doubt though.

In any event, D/H and I discussed it and we both felt it would be better for him to take a few days off of work to go up there to be with her. That way he can give his sister and Dad a little break and stay with her part of the time. We all would have gone but we just can't travel in a car that long with d/s since his leg needs to be iced and elevated. So I don't know when he'll return, I am guessing sometime Thursday. Hopefully the upcoming weather events will pass by then. Your prayers are greatly appreciated.

Well I finished up my PADI Openwater scuba classwork yesterday took my test online and passed it yay! I am so happy to have that done. I start my confined water dives next Sunday for 5 weeks, that should mean some late nights since it doesn't start until 9:00 p.m. Indiana time and it is an hour drive away. But it should be 5 nights of fun. I am looking forward to it.

I always check the newspaper in the morning, yesterday found out a lady who lived near us when we lived in the country had passed away. She was a fun gal with a great sense of humor, but a little bit nosey. We had a farm that set up high on a hill and she lived down below on the other side of a creek. Her house had a clear view of our barn and the east side of our house. Back then we shared a party line telephone which of course that alone supplied endless entertainment and fodder for the rumor mills and everyone thought it scandalous that Ruby Paulson had the nerve to take her phone off the hook to keep everyone in the neighborhood off the phone so she could take a nap during the middle of the day. It was not unusual for our dearly departed former neighbor to ring up my Mom and tell her that she had seen my sister down at the barn smoking cigarettes...well it was just simply untrue, it wasn't my sister smoking down there as my sister would never do anything like that. You wonder how I know? I know, because I was the one smoking cigarettes down at the barn ! So anyhow that was one of those funny stories that come to mind when a person from your long forgotten past passes on.

Todd I am glad you got that pumper under control! Donna glad you are starting to get some relief. I too want to wish the Saints fans CONGRATULATIONS on a job well done!
I hope you all have a great day even though it is a Monday again!

Good Morning cruisemates! Beenie so sorry to hear of your mother in law's heart attack. Hope it wasn't too severe and with the docs help can bounce back quickly.

Some visibile condensation coming off the water on "my" golf hole this morning, and a light frost on the ground. The day's temps are only supposed to get to the mid 60s, but warming during the remainder of the week.

Going golfing with friends in a town called Buckeye. Got love that name. I know what buck teeth is, what's a buckeye?

Luv2:

Matt will be doing some cooking demonstrations and I know that the Moose Man will come up with some fun activities for the sea days. He always does.

I could always demonstrate my recipe for "boeuf haché Aide". Otherwise known as "Hamburger Helper".

Take care and I hope you can join us.

Bless her little heart! She'll be feeling so much better with the tubes. It's harder on Mom and Dad than on the baby !

ya i agree.. Everything went great it was really quick about 15-20 mins in the waiting room. She woke up crying of course but after about 20 mins of that she fell asleep on my arm and i just let her sleep there for about 45 mins.... And yes my arm was about to fall off and was numb lol... I think she was upset from waking up and not knowing where or what was going on and she could not have a bottle that morning so she was hungry... I took all day off and after we got home and early evening she was happy playful and was her normal self.. Probably helped that her and my wife took a 3 hour nap in the early afternoon cause we felt sorry for her being upset... While they where warm in bed dad was outside plowing at that time 6-7 inch's of snow with my snowblower getting snow and ice on my chin lol...... Thank you all for your concern and blessing's it was much appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!!!
