Morning Mates,
No, it's not snowing here, but from what I've seen on the news, it seems to be everywhere else!
We are expecting some flurries and maybe 10 cms later today, but so far it's just DULL.
Just came back from an early morning appointment at the hospital for a blood test. They are much more efficient and quicker here than back in Montreal, but then again, there are far fewer people in this small town!
Having a quick breakfast, then it's off to Aquafit class, then from there to work, including a lunchtime planning session for the Winter Carnival here on Saturday. Apparently we are responsible for providing the kids' games and activities for the Carnival...at least the weather is looking decent for the weekend....
Good Morning RD and all to follow. No snow here but it is not warm. Chilly winter for Florida this year. Eye appointment for me today. I too have to run by and have blood taken for blood work. Thankfully I did not have to fast for this blood work. I would have gone crazy waiting for my coffee. Have a good day all.
Laura

Hi Kids,
Well all the snow they said we were going to have, [over a foot] never came....we got maybe 4/5 inches. But, they called off schools everywhere, and people stayed home, like Bruce..said it was going to start around the morning commute, didn't start till almost supper time..This time they dropped the forecast ball.. but, bright and cold today.
I thought I migh be able to get someones cancelled Dentists appointment, but no to be today.
Good thoughts goingout to all....make it a good one

A good Thursday afternoon from Salzburg where it is still snowing. We went on the Sound of Music tour this morning in the snow; it was wonderful. Tomorrow, we are off to Vienna.
I hope everyone is enjoying the snow instead of being adversely impacted (i.e., I hope everyone has power).

At least a foot of snow at my front door ,however ,roads have been plowed .I am in day # 2 of hibernation .Thank goodness for the computer ,television ,CD player and hundreds of books .
Good morning R/Donna, Laura, Trip, Marc and all of our fellow CruiseMates.
It's currently 26 F outside and there's a couple of inches of the white stuff on the ground. This of course means that schools will probably be closed for the next week.
It's newspaper column deadline day and as is my permanent complaint, when you've written over 7,500 weekly columns about the same basic subject, it's so difficult to keep it fresh and interesting. I think I'll devote this week's offering to an extra special "happy endings" adoption. This week a 9 year old dog was adopted by two wonderful senior citizens (and by that I mean much older than I ) who already have a 14 year old canine pet. I had showcased the dog (who came to us along with a much younger "sibling" both of whom had been abandoned to the elements, the young dog being quickly adopted) a couple of weeks ago.
On the subject of pets, during the summer I am forever pleading to PLEASE not leave your pet in a car (even with a window slightly open). Conversely, I urge everyone who has a dog or kitty and who live in areas where the winter winds blow and temps frequently fall into the lower thirties or lower, to insure that their pet has a relatively warm place to stay. While I urge at least a minimally heated area inside (such as a basement or heated garage) at least a good doghouse in which you've place not just a bed of blankets but blankets underneath of which you've placed a generous amount of straw. Also please insure your outdoor pets have fresh water that hasn't frozen. So many otherwise caring pet owner of outside animals often forget that. Okay, so much for the soap box.
Hope everyone including our southern CrusieMates such as Laura stays warm and has a marvelous Thursday.
Yep it is snowing yet again here. It waited to start until about an hour ago. The schools are on a 2 hr. delay so I have a 6 yr old just waiting to go back after 2 days off. I am going to take her to school as I must do some things in town, banking, post office & grocery store to be exact. I want to be back home in plenty of time to watch the NASCAR Duel from Daytona. So glad the season has started and football is over!
I need to get some dog food for the 2 orphans we seem to have adopted. The little Jack Russell has been here for almost 2 yrs and has made himself right at home. He is a good little guy. The other dog really belongs to our neighbor but would rather be here, could it be because we let him come inside! He is a black part Lab & something else. He is about 10 yrs old and the cold weather is hard on him. He too has made himself right at home spending his time lying on a big rug in the dinning room sleeping most of the time. Would hate for either of these 2 guys to be out in this bad weather. I've noticed most of the animals in the neighborhood have been moved to warmer areas so they can stay safe. We have good neighbors.
Everyone have a good warm day. Prayers for those in need.
Good Morning CruiseMates!
Well it is another frozen snowy day here in West Central Indiana. I am sick of it and I am ready for spring. I did venture out for a bit yesterday and was amazed to have to negotiate a normally well traveled city street that was so drifted over it was less than 1 lane wide and the drifts blocking the other lane were 3-4 feet tall in places, I have never seen that here before. Luckily the town folk were all very polite and all were very nice how they let one another pass to get through the maze of blocked off areas. While I was out I popped in to the grocery store for a half gallon of milk, $50 later I headed back to the house.
D/H just called. Things are looking up. His Mom did well with the angiogram and she is getting to come home from the hospital today. As soon as she gets home and is settled in, d/h is heading home. So I expect we'll see him sometime tonight around 8. The kids and I are going to be happy to see him for sure. We are happy that Oma is doing well enough to come home.
Well the mail did arrive yesterday in spite of the hazardous weather (have I told you guys how wonderful our mail carrier is?) We love our mail carrier. She is wonderful. I usually have the mail by 11:00. We really miss her when we have a sub. Anyhow she brought my dive skin, and I was happy that it actually fit and I don't look as stupid in it as I thought I would . Today my wetsuit should arrive, so lets pray I have luck with that too.
Last night I fell asleep on the poof in the living room watching TV...so as a result I didn't sleep so good, so I think I will pour some more coffee down my neck to wake up a little more.
Well I better get started on some more laundry and unloading the dishwasher. Hope you all have a great morning!
Beenie, if you want to wake up it would be better to pour ice water on your neck than coffee. Happy to hear your M-I-L is going home!
The steam over the water hazard is lifting, the sky is blue, the ducks and geese are busy chatting about what they are going to do today, and unlike Beenie I'm actually drinking my coffee.
Today is the start of a warming trend.. calling for mid to high 70s for the next 15 days. Of course, we really don't know... they said rain yesterday and it never happened.
Ya do have to wonder if they can't get a one day forecast right, how they can predict the end of the world as we know it
It's back to the golf course today. Mrs. Kuki is going to drop me off, take the car and go meet a friend for lunch. Have more friends arriving to visit tomorrow, so things start getting busy again.
I'm back among the living, after a miserable week. The cough is lingering, but the fever and most of the congestion has gone. Now I believe DH is showing the same wonderful symptoms that I had. I guess we will call this Round 2 -- Ding Ding.
Our weather is cold and rainy. Of course, cold is relative. Our high today will be the mid-40's. These temps are about 20 degrees below our norm, so I'm ready for some warm sunshine!
Todd, you can jump on that soapbox anytime. It's good information and so easily forgotten!
BW, I'm glad to hear that your MIL is doing better.
Kuki, you have a rough life! The picture that you paint each morning helps us all get going! Enjoy!

A late good morning from Sunny but very cool Fl. I'm sure a lot of you would say it's not cool with our temps but when you have lived in Fl as long as I have these temps are not nice. At least 15 degrees below normal. At least I have something on tv that I like to watch NASCAR and it is a full day what with the practices, the duels and then the truck qualify this evening.
I hope everyone in the land of cold and snow stay safe and warm.

Good morning from sunny Southern California. The rains have gone and the people in the fire areas are shoveling mud. It will be in the 70's all week.
Keith bought a new hard drive and is happily tearing apart his computer. Now he'll want to use my laptop which he does not like and will complain mightily. Sigh . . .
The gym will give him a reprieve, though. I am still hacking but had a better night with the hell of some evil tasting potion.
Donna, I don't know if you received my message or not, but the pharmacist said he was going to try the Vicks method!
Not typing much today. Betty and I got in a car accident yesterday. I'm a bit beaten up and my right arm isn't doing to good. It was a case of ice plus speed (not ours) didn't mix. Good thing I'm left handed. But it isn't easy to type.
The Suburban will take $5,000 + for fixing. Oh well: No one was badly injured and we'll live to tell about it.
Take care,
Mike

Mike, I hope you'll go to the doctor if either of you has any pain. David was in an accident many years ago and we settled with the other driver's insurance. BIG mistake! It's been a problem ever since .
Just be sure you're both okay & yes, RD, it's snowing here again,
