Morning Mates,
Are we all bleary-eyed this morning from staying up late watching the Opening Ceremonies? In Atlantic Canada we are an hour earlier than most, so if you watched from 9 - midnight, I watched from 10 - 1 a.m.!
So sad about the Georgian luge athlete dying on a training run yesterday.
I was impressed with his team's decision to go on, and with the standing ovation given them when they entered the stadium wearing black armbands.
I am having my own little Olympics today here in Pictou County.
I will be doing Olympic Games for the kids at a snow-filled tennis court in New Glasgow. We'll be doing Snow Volleyball, Snow Dodgeball, Olympic Hula Hoops, Duck Duck Goose in the Snow, and maybe even some Snow Angels thrown in for good measure!
The weather is mild, thank goodness, -1C or 30F, dull, gray, but so far, no rain. Apparently yesterday's rain/snow mushed up the skating rink, so the hockey games and family skate have been canceled, which means we may get more kids at our Olympics - it will be a busy afternoon!
I'm looking forward to getting out in the fresh air and having some fun, and then tonight, to the pub for our "Sociable Trivia". (every 10 questions we raise our glasses and yell "Sociable!" and clink glasses, or in my case, bottled water!)
That certainly was a tragedy at the Olympic Luge track. I too believe the speeds have got much too high. I'm sure they'll find a way to keep the sport very competitive while keeping the speeds slower.
Nothing on tap this weekend save of course DAYTONA! I made that dip last evening that I was writing about and have plenty of chips, beer in the fridge and my recliner qualified for the front row!
Sounds as if you're getting better R/D. Hope everything goes well this afternoon and that you and the kids have a grand time.
Also hope that you Mike and Betty are quickly recovering from your collision earlier this week (I don't use the term accident because most true accidents are not preventable (like being struck by a meteorite while walking down the street) while vehicle collisions are) with that individual who apparently never was taught how to drive under icy conditions (and who drives in "the land of ice and snow).
Prayers continue for everyone on the prayer list accompanied by the daily request for God's Blessings on all.
Mrs. Kuki is still sawing logs, but I'm out on my patio perch with my coffee, and watching the golfers. They normally don't get to "my hole" so early, but it appears they have some sort of tournament with a shotgun start.
Skies are cloudless, and we're apparently heading to 75 degrees or so this morning, so it looks like it's going to be a stunning day.
Might not do much more than drive around with the top down to enjoy it.
Sunny and 30F in Atlanta. We have 3.6 inches of snow on the ground and that is highly unusual for this area. Today is packing day. Heading for Tampa early in the morning to board the Carnival Legend.
Well today the sun is shining but it was 1 degree above zero and there was lots of fog that caused crystals to form on everything. It's very pretty but I am so ready for spring already!
Today is a little hectic with lots on the go. D/H is headed to Bloomington to do a classroom setup for next weeks classes. I am headed to Indy to buy a wetsuit, evidently the yahoos I purchased one from online, don't know the difference between priority mail and UPS Ground. They charged me extra for priority mail, but actually shipped it UPS Ground and it is not going to arrive on time. So I will just send it back to them whenever it finally arrives and they can keep it. I really don't have time to mess with all of this, but I am not going to freeze my butt off tomorrow night.
Last night my Sister came over and spent the night. D/H got up and made us all a nice breakfast this morning. My Netflix movie arrived in the mail today. So tonight I think we'll sit around and watch Couple's Retreat after the kids go to sleep. For lunch today my Sis is taking d/s to the local pizza place for lunch since d/s has been craving it lately and it is not on my diet. I will take d/d to the Beef House for lunch and we'll enjoy a nice lunch that is on our diets. Then I will take off with the kiddo's for Indy.
I hope you all are well today and Mike I am so sorry to hear about your accident, I hope the repairs and recovery are speedy. Take care and enjoy the weekend.
28 and cloudy here ,snow expected again monday night but it looks as though it may arrive earlier .
I wish everyone a Superb Saturday
Good Morning all, the rain has past in Northern California and the weatherman says we will have a nice weekend. After looking at the problems in the east a little rain is no big deal. I hope all you guys are ready for Valentine's Day. I went out yesterday and have myself covered. Showing up empty handed is not an option. Take care all, Mike

Just checking to say hi. It's a foggy morning here but it is supposed to clear up later. The grandkids will be over later and stay through Monday. This will give their parents a chance to enjoy V-Day.
Take care,
Mike

Good afternoon from snowy, Virginia Beach. Yes, last night I stayed up until midnight to watch the opening ceremonies of the olympics. I sure wish I was in Vancouver; not only would I like to be at the olympics but I would love to return to one of the most beautiful cities in the world! Tomorrow, Rob and I are headed to Williamsburg to meet our older daughter and family who are spending the weekend at Great Wolf Lodge. I am sure that our grandson and granddaughter are having a blast. The olympics comes on in a few minutes, so if you are like me, enjoy! May all my fellow cruisemates enjoy a wonderful Saturday.
Good afternoon! Yes, I stayed up late, too. I plan to watch the figure skating, mens and womens, whenever that starts.
It's very warm here, about 80 for today. Kuki, the midwesterners will have a contract out on me, too.! There's some sort of racing event, the Winter Nationals, about 20 minutes from here. Haven't heard all their noise, though. Keith says that there's probably some fancy private jets out at our local airport. Big money in for the race, I guess. Well, they couldn'task for nicer weather.
Keith plans to install a new hard drive today. I guess that means I have to start on the house cleaning that illness has delayed. Maybe a nice lunch ay P.F. Chang's later.
