I'd say very good Venice, probably outstanding all things considered.
While the city schools have all of the glitzy stuff, the much poorer County schools do not. Nevertheless its the County Schools who win a goodly number of national awards (and I'm not talking about the "everyone gets one" variety).
They all have unbelievably dedicated teachers who've never EVER gone out on strike despite the fact that comparatively, they make far less than in many other areas of the country -- and by that I mean the areas that are now bankrupt yet whose taxes keep skyrocketing. The local teachers union here understands the economics of the area and therefore refuse to hold a financial club over the populace as is so often the case in other areas.
Now Venice, would you rather I enroll you in the City or the County schools!
BTW, is the site unbelievably slow this morning? All my other internet sites are opening up in a fraction of the time and I just sat here for about thirty seconds waiting for the additional smilie box to present itself on screen.
