I'd say very good Venice, probably outstanding all things considered.

While the city schools have all of the glitzy stuff, the much poorer County schools do not. Nevertheless its the County Schools who win a goodly number of national awards (and I'm not talking about the "everyone gets one" variety).

They all have unbelievably dedicated teachers who've never EVER gone out on strike despite the fact that comparatively, they make far less than in many other areas of the country -- and by that I mean the areas that are now bankrupt yet whose taxes keep skyrocketing. The local teachers union here understands the economics of the area and therefore refuse to hold a financial club over the populace as is so often the case in other areas.

Now Venice, would you rather I enroll you in the City or the County schools!

BTW, is the site unbelievably slow this morning? All my other internet sites are opening up in a fraction of the time and I just sat here for about thirty seconds waiting for the additional smilie box to present itself on screen.

Todd

my lady friend who is from Mississippi, indicated that she would like to go back there to raise her daughter and that your neck of the woods is too far north

you know the deal..so i guess i'll start rooting for "old miss"

My biggest problem with basketball now and this includes college is the obsession with tattoos. It is obscene. Basketball used to be the classy sport. Wear a suit and tie to the gym. The coach wore a suit on the sidelines. I don't remember Larry Byrd having any tattoos. Now this has carried over to football too. I don't think there was one guy on the '72 Dolphins with a tattoo. Call me a hater but tattoos are stupid and especially so for athletes that are supposed to be role models not thugs.

Dave The Wave..I agree with you 100%...but then I was in Miami on South Beach and spotted a trio of ladies wearing Brazilian Cut bikinis and they all had the initials DTW tattoo on their ______________________::::

when my son was small I took him to see the movie "An Officer and a Gentleman" where Richard Gere kept trying to cover his tatoo's because Louis Gossett Sr. kept telling him the Navy fighter pilots (officers) don't have tattoo's...he's always remember that

Chris Paul is a star guard for the NBA N.O. Hornets..he is very clean cut, has no markings, graduated from college, great team player and saves his $$$$$$$, loves his parents and has dated the same woman since high school...if you are going to look at professional athletes as role models( and I don't buy that one bit)..he would be it

I totally agree with you . I dream of a sports team having an entire team of players without tattoos . There are some players who have them head to toe .I find myself rooting for basketball players who don't have any
