for her Valentine's gift ,I treated my friend to a B&B experience (in a small town far away from Mardi Gras and Saints mad New Orleans) which included some casual shopping and discovered she collects piggy banks
if any of my worldwide cruisemates, come across any unique piggy banks in their travels or shopping send me a "pm" and I will send you $$$$ for purchase plus shipping and handling
next year I'm going to treat her to a New York Jazz Cruise outing on Valentine's night with Phil Perry (her favorite)
thanks for your response..I bet your charming wife would understand the term unusual..I myself, put all of my loose change in a big glass cookie jar
my friend has a very nice china cabinet display case for her piggy banks and has not traveled outside Louisiana much to add to her collection, so any piece that you find, would make her delighted..and if she is delighted____________ well, you know the rest
I collect VW beetle scale models (of which my friend Luanne made a major contribution when she was in Germany) and have a nice display case for them.
I'll keep my eyes out for spoons...I'll see if some of my friends collected any spoons from the Mardi Gras parades (real spoons as opposed to the plastic ones)
Todd...what's the old saying " A fool and his Gold are soon parted" ::::...come to think of it, we in New Orleans seem to have an abundance of "black and gold" merchandise at Mardi Gras this season, so I'll see what I can do to fill your request
it is my goal to be able to present her with one Piggy Bank a month, on the 14th of the month for the next 11 months (along with a rose) and then on Jan 14th, 2011 present her with a Piggy Bank from Hawaii along with plane tickets to spend a week in Maui for 2011 Valentine's Day
now you see why I need the help of my fellow cruisemates to keep her off balance
