Rob and I are cruise addicts; this afternoon, we booked a cruise on Celebrity's Mercury, departing from Baltimore, on December 11th porting in Charleston, Key West, Nassau, and Coco Cay. We had caught a special online and our agent, Candy, was able to match it. Even though this cruise is months away it does not dim our excitement. Have any other of my fellow cruisemates booked cruises for this year?
Good for you Balabusta! Amount of time to wait never diminishes the excitement, does it?
I'm presently researching a cruise for Nov. as it is my sister's 50th birthday.
My criteria are pricing and itinerary. I'll let you know what we decide!
Rollerdonna, good luck with your cruise search. Rob and I decided not to splurge this year because we are setting up a 529 plan (in the states it's called an education fund) for our new grandson, Zack. From what I have seen, cruise prices seem to be in favor of the consumer this year. I would love to hear where you and your family are going!
We are booked on the 9/5 Solstice sailing in an AQ cabin.
...and since we booked, there has been a price reduction and we saved $398.00... .
We are looking at Celebrity sailings for April of 2011, and Mrs. S is favoring the 14 day Constellation sailing on 4/23/2011.....it is a little more than we would like to spend, so we are looking at 10 or 11 day Celebrity offerings as well. Then again, we really do love the M class ships and did enjoy the Connie when we sailed her last year.
I would love to see what they have for the Fall of 2011, but the shedule isn't out yet from what I can see.
Our dream cruise, and one that we are planning for when I retire for good, is a Celebrity Med cruise of 10 or more days. The ones they have now stop in Egypt, and we would love to see the Pyramids. Hopefully in a couple of years they will still be doing them.
Sid, congratulations on catching a "price reduction" on your upcoming cruise. Any discount, on the price of a cruise, is fantastic. As for Rob and I, when we have been lucky enough to catch a "price reduction", I look at it as having more money to "shop" in the ports. It does pay to check cruise prices often. Having the internet has been wonderful to research cruise prices.
Yep,
We are booked on the Eurodam on a 16 day repositioning cruise, Ft. Lauderdale to Rome with two ports in Portugal two in Spain, and Monaco before Rome. April 3.
