Default Monday Again

Morning Mates, where did the weekend go?
It snowed pretty much all weekend here, and looks very pretty outside this morning. Temp is at -2 so no melting in sight.

I spent some time yesterday out enjoying the snow, rebuilding my original Inuksuk who had melted and fallen over.
This time I added a silly hat and a Canada flag to cheer on our Olympic athletes.

The rest of the day was spent at the computer researching and planning activities for this week at work, and for March Break. For the break, so far I've got skating, sledding, swimming, bowling, and a movie. Any other ideas out there?
Well, I'd better get ready for work, have a good day all!

Good Morning Mates,

Just a dull grey here. No snow in forcast for today, but there is for the rest of the week.

The push is on - so much to accomplish before we head out on Friday.
Friday we drive to the Boston area and spend the night with dh's sister and her dh. Sat. they will bring us to the airport - we will fly to Puerto Rico. We will land there around 9:30ish. Then we sail on Sunday night - at round 10:30 I think. Not sure when we will board.
I am just praying I get it all done here, so I can go with a clean conscience and slate. I will try not to check in with Church stuff while I am on the ship, but I know that I probably cave....I am thinking the internet bill my be the biggest item on my sign/sail card. Ugh!
I never thought I would ever be described as a work-a-holic, but I am. I think I try to justify it as that I am doing the Lord's work. But you all know, I think better than I, than I just can't say no.

Well, must finish checking my emails - then decide what to make for the Womans Ministry monthly potluck time - an evening of food and fellowship and a devotion. Also - the dreaded paperwork, starts all over again with taking care of Sunday's offering. And must get my Bible Study for Wed. finished. It is the last one of the series that I have been teaching since Sept - The Tabernacle in the Wilderness: Our Pattern for Worship.
Hard to put the baby to bed, but we have reached the end. This has been a very revealing teaching, and I hope life changing in those who have attended, and myself, about our approach to God.
While I will dearly miss teaching - it will free up countless hours every week. I wonder what will pop up to fill them.

Have a beautiful day all my Mates - I am still in disbelief that this time next week I'll be on the deck of a ship, waiting to go to a tropical port, surrounded by friends. It is surreal - like a dream.
Also surreal -I booked a flight to Orlando in April. A older lady at church so wanted me to fly down with her - I just couldn't say no, so I booked our flights yesterday. She was so excited, saying that her daughter would be so happy, and that sometimes a daughter, no matter how old just needs her mom. So I am happy that I am bringing her, as I guess that there may be distress in her daughters family and this will bring them all joy. Plus - time with my daughter as well. She called on Sat. to say she had been offered a full time job at Disney - where it isn't preforming, she will take it - as she would have a consistent pay check, and insurance. We are blessed indeed. I have a thankful heart.
When I booked I was wondering how many days I'd be stuck in her apartment - tho' I know I will have one day at least with my cousins/aunt/uncle and also with a Tea Friend that I have come to know from another Chat Site. When I got to church last night, come to find out another lady and her husband will be in Kissimmee during that same time, we already have plans for a day with me at their resort, by the pool, and shopping! Gotta love that the Lord finds special little ways to bring joy into our own lives, when we are faithful to try to bring joy into the lives of others.

Good morning Donna and Jen as well as to the rest of the cruisemates.

Our snow is just about all gone, but it looks like there is more on it's way.

Donna you sure are going to be busy during spring break. In addition to all your other activities, may I suggest that you take a bit of time to relax.

Good morning R/Donna, Jen and Manuel,

It's a mild (almost 50 F) but dreary Monday morning here in upper East Tennessee. Guess it's going to be on and off showers for a good part of the day.

R/Donna, I concur with Manuel!

Jen, as for you, I'm so glad that you're going on a cruise. To paraphrase, "You most certainly deserve a break ... for at least a week!"

Was thinking of BeenieWeenie yesterday doing her diving thing. I just lost a boyhood friend in Florida. He was a professional diver on oil rigs for forty years and while sixty, he looked about forty. His death was not dive related, a result of an accident ashore as I understand it.

Prayers and Blessings continue and I wish all a pleasant and safe week.

Todd

Hi Kids,
Bright sun and warmer temps here, will tease us today, as the rest of the week will be blah...

I am off to the eye Drs. to pick up my new glasses. Thi sis the 3rd time my eyes have improved..one eye is practicallynothing now....I wissh the rest of my body would improve like me eyes:0

Jen, it anyone deserves some ship time, it's you..then to Florida,..I am jealous..I need a fix! My daughter had an internship at Disney, when she was in college. It was quite the coup for her, considering how few people they alloed, we were proud...She loved working there.

Bruce is suffering from tinitus,[sp] and hoping the Dr will have a magic fix..anyone out there know of one

Make it a good one Cruisemates.....

You know Trip, just last week I thought that I too may be developing Tinitus so I googled what treatments are out there.

The good news is, it went away.

The bad news is, there's very little medicine can do to treat it.

Good Morning CruiseMates!!
Well I am very happy to hear that Jen is going cruising and leaving work behind for a while. You've earned a break! Hope you get to enjoy your time in Florida as well. Florida is one of those places that it is always easy to find something to do, rental cars are cheap, and you can rent a GPS with the car and go exploring. Go to the beach, Get together with some CruiseMates who live down there. Take a timeshare tour and get free tickets to something. Go grab a fresh seafood lunch. Make the most of your time there and most of all have a great time! Last time I was in Orlando was June 2008 when the fam and I joined d/h there for a Microsoft conference he was attending. The resort we stayed at was kind of congested and busy so I loaded the kids in the car and drove over to DeSoto beach. it was great, spontaneous fun, I went out swimming to find I wasn't alone and was surrounded by manatees. That was such a thrill. There were very social and enjoyed swimming under me and next to me.

Donna I love your Inuksuk! It really is festive looking.

Todd, I am sorry to hear of the passing of your friend.

BTW Scuba class kicked my butt last night... the only thing that made me feel better is that it kicked everyone elses butt too, even those young whipper snappers. I am sooo out of shape..I feel like a gelatinous mass these days. We had to swim 200 meters (only 8 pool lengths) last night which is basically nothing compared to what I used to do, but never the less none us paced ourselves very well and we were all huffing and puffing by the time we were done. I was pleased that there were several folks who came in behind me and I wasn't the last one in . But it definitely drove the point home that I need to get some real exercise. Chasing two kids around the house isn't getting it, exhausting as it may be. I brought in some of my newly acquired scuba equipment to try it out and the regulators all worked fine... the dive computer and compass died an ugly death, both need new batteries. I need to take them in and get them worked on.

I think I will get my Total Gym out from under the bed where it's been hiding and start using it again. It wouldn't kill me to get to the pool once in a while and swim some laps too.

Well today my workout will consist of cleaning up the disaster area that occurred in my absence yesterday. OMG how do they do it?

Take care and have a great day everyone!

Good morning, from in the upper forties, Virginia Beach. It is supposed to rain later on today. I just got back from the gym and am meeting a girlfriend for lunch. (thank G-d for the "over 60 discount"!). Rollerdonna, I just loved your snowman; it reminds me so much of the many snowmen I built as a kid growing up in New Jersey. I used to love the cold weather; now, I can't wait for March to come in like a lion and out like a lamb! Make it a beautiful Monday, fellow cruisemates.

Good Morning cruisemates! I'm out on my patio perch, enjoying my coffee, wearing fleece. About 50 degrees and large black clouds surround us. Rain and strong winds forecast for this afternoon, and sadly it appears the "pay for being wrong" folks are going to be right.

All of this means no golf today, which disappoints a couple of people who flew in for just a few days.

To help chear em up I'm going to grill the world's best hot dogs for them tonight.

Guess I'll just be cuddling up with the Winter Olympic coverage for the rest of the day.

Default Monday Again

Monday again, indeed! The sun is shining in my part of CA. I couldn't sleep last night and was reading at 2 a.m. I thought I heard rain, and sure enough, the decks are wet this morning. Unlike Kuki, I am not sitting on my patio. Brrr!

Phone calls and the weekly laundry are on my list today.

Good afternoon everyone:

I've been busy preparing for the annual "Mike A Wish" fishing trip. We'll be leaving on Thursday morning for Lake Winnebigoshish in pursuit of the pesky perch.

There are six of us going this year and while the fishing is the primary focus the comradarie and fun on the ice and in the evening are highlights. It's sort of like a cruise. You have your day long excursion and then an evening of entertainment.

I'm good at providing entertainment on the ice. There is usually a wager on biggest fish, first fish and how many times Mike falls on his @ss. Last year's winner was my brother with "6". He's going to bet the same number this year.

Take care,
Mike
