Morning Mates,
What a wonderful feeling to wake up and realize it is a holiday, and a long weekend to boot!
Now, if only the weather would cooperate and make it feel like Easter...
This morning it is 1C or 33F, and wet and foggy. The birds are chirping, but that's about as "spring" as it gets..
Last night we went out to see an intimate little concert in our local Trivia pub. Just a couple of old hippies on guitar, mandolin and harmonica, but boy, could they play! The harmonica man was incredible, I never saw anyone play with so much passion! It was a cozy little gathering, with lots of singing along to old Folk tunes, and several people joining in on the Bodhran, Tabla, Bongoes, Egg Shakers, Spoons, etc. It was a great time, and we are really enjoying discovering all the talent this little town has to offer!
Today we might drive to a nearby town (love the name: Tatamagouche!)
to a small Art Gallery where there is a display of "Little Paintings" 5x7 or smaller. Might get myself something by a local artist for the house...
Wishing you all a GOOD Friday and much relaxation!
And a good Good Friday morning to you Rollerdonna as well and all who follow.
It's going to be another beautiful day here in upper East Tennessee with temps climbing into the mid eighties. Tomorrow and Easter the temps are supposed to moderate to the low to mid seventies with the skies forecast to remain beautiful throughout the week.
Had the A/C in the car repaired yesterday. Thankfully it was only a valve that required replacement and the addtion of 2 lbs. of Freon or whatever they use today. Also he discovered that my automatic belt tensioner needed replacement and he changed the oil and filter. That what I like about taking the car to the same mechanic each time. He knows the car and he spots things before they become major problems.
Late last yesterday afternoon, I looked out to see my neighbor mowing my side lot. I went out and approached him and he said, "I 'heard' the problem you had yesterday and just figured I'd run over this for you." We are indeed so blessed with wonderful neighbors.
Today it's "Get Fran out of the house" day and I'll be taking her to do a little grocery shopping to pick up a few things for Sunday and then I'll swing by Penney's for something she noticed in a circular.
Hope each of you has a wonderful runup to the Easter weekend and of course, as is especially appropriate at this time of year, Prayers and a request for Blessings continue.
Good Morning CruiseMates!
Donna sounds like you and your hubby have a new and wonderful adventure everyday. I love hearing about all the local flavor and fun stuff you find to do.
Well today should be another award winning beautiful day. Yesterday was terrific! It got into the mid 80's and I could not be any happier. The only thing I could live without is the ladybug invasion in the sunroom. I bet I vacuumed up thousands of them. Then I saw a couple of ants in there and an ant in my bathroom taking a look around. So after the kids music lessons I stopped by the Farm supply store and picked up some granules and made my way around the house's foundation right as the sun was setting. I also got some spray to use as well. I hate ants and I battle them every spring, and if I don't kill them right away it turns into long production so I am hitting them with everything I have right from the get go!
Sometime this week I need to get out and scrub down the fifth wheel, I unrolled the awning yesterday and it was full of water and let it dry out. But it all needs a good cleaning. The house also needs a good scrub, but what else is new .
I was listening to Todd talk about Dollywood & Pigeon Forge the other day. When d/s turned 5 or 6 we went there we rented a cabin up in the Smokies and it was so beautiful. My last adventure in that neck of the woods was when I bought the 5th wheel and spent the night before I picked it up in the old fifth wheel at some Escapees campground outside of Knoxville I think. I love that area and think I would like to head that direction this summer for a little getaway. Maybe spend a few days in Sevierville or thereabouts.
Today involves hauling a bunch of trees we cut down back to a pile of brush and cleaning up the house. D/s is back on his feet enough now that he can now get back up into his loft bed. So the other bed frame he's been using can go back into the garage and he can once more reclaim his room.
Well I better get to doing something productive. Hope you all have a great Friday and the beginning to terrific weekend!
I too would like to wish everyone a good Good Friday. It is a beautiful day sofar with temps starting in the 50's and going up into the 80's, I am loving this! Yesterday I had to wonderful good fortune to keep both my grandaughters. It was a full day of playing outside as they were out the door by 10 am. I did manage to get them inside for lunch before we did our taxi service for my mom. We dropped Mom off at the beauty shop then we headed to the local playground. The almost 2 yr old dare-devil wanted to do everything big sis did which made me very nervous. After about 35 minutes they were beginning to wear down so we went to the local ice cream shop for a treat. Buy the time the cones were gone it was time to retrive my Mom. Little one fell asleep in the car on the return trip of about 10 min. I figured she would take a nice long nap once inside....WRONG.. she woke up as I got her out of the car and wanted to play outside some more. We did. Daddy picked them up and when I talked to him later last night both girls were out for the count. Guess Mamaw wore them down.
Today I am planning on being outside but not playing. It is time to mow the yard! I enjoy doing it but seems like once you start it is never ending. Tomorrow is the big birthday party for our little one she turns 2 on Tues. so in order to get everyone together we have to party tomorrow. It should be a fun time as my d/d has one of those inflatable jumping cages on tap for the whole day. The kids will enjoy that.
Well this is not getting the mower running so better go. Everyone have a great day and enjoy the weekend.
It's a nice morning here. A bit cloudy and thunderstorms are on tap for the afternoon. The Twins first game in their new outdoor stadium is set for today. It would be a bit ironic if they were rained out since they cursed having to play indoors for so many years. I don't want the game rained out but we do need the rain. We haven't had any since the snow melted and there are a number of grass fires in the area and a good rain would speed up the greening.
In a few minutes we'll be heading over to the butcher's to get our meat for Easter. We'll be having prime rib, au jus, garlic mashed potatoes, carrots, tossed mixed green salad and chocolate cake for dessert. It's an easy meal and great for leftovers.
I hope everyone has a wonderful Good Friday and a joyous Easter.
Sue: Can I come over and play in the jumping cage?
Take care,
Mike

Well, we are expecting some rain today, but hopefully it will move on out for the remainder of the weekend.
I need to make a run to the mall the return some shorts that I bought for Don. You would think that buying shorts would be an easy thing, but 1 size is too "tight" and the next size is too large. He doesn't mind the "too large" but they look so sloppy on him, I can't stand it! I reckon I'm going to have to take him with me, so he can try them on. He is worse than a 2 year old, when it comes to trying on clothes! All the whining and carrying on. I guess if this is all I have to complain about, I'm in good shape, huh?
Beenie, we have been working on our RV, too. It is amazing how much there is to do. Our RV is now is now 6 years old, so there is so much that Don has checked on it, from front to rear. A lot of things have worn and needs attention.
Mike, your menu may be simple, but sure sounds good! Yummy!
Todd, our AC troubles on the Honda were cheaper than yours! Turns out the only problem was a frayed wire, and the cost was $35. I was sure surprised. In this neck of the woods, when it comes to AC, you just keep throwing money at the problem, until it is resolved! Come summertime, AC is as essential as oxygen to breathe!
I need to get busy! Everyone have a great day!

Hello Darlene, Honda's are great cars. Our daughter Lorraine is still driving the one I purchased back in 1998. Accept for a few minor things the car has been trouble free. Take care, Mike

I just love my 01 Grand Am too. Even though I've always been too big for it it's been one of the best cars I've ever owned. The only major problem I've had with it was the replacement of the manifold gasket a few years ago (which I was told was a common problem as result of an inferior inital gasket). It appears to run as well as the day it was first purchased (hope I'm not jinxing myself with that statement) and even though it has a only 3.4 litre V-6, it nevertheless develops within 5 horsepower of the old GM 350 V-8 (I call my Grand Am a "pocket rocket"). I also still get 31-32 mpg at 70 mph on the Interstate (up to 33-34 prior to ethanol gasoline).
