Good Easter Morning to all of my CruiseMates! Today is the day we
Christians celebrate the Resurrection of Christ, among if indeed not the, Holiest Day of the Year.
Our holiday menu today will be simple and similar to Mike M's and millions of others by being centered around Roast Leg of Lamb.
Today's offering includes: tossed salad dressed with Balsamic Vinaigrette, roast leg of lamb into which has been inserted dozens of paper thin slivers of garlic and marinated all night in red wine, crispy oven roasted potato wedges, string beans dressed in butter, broccoli rabe quickly wilted in garlic oil and cooked until crisp tender and finally, steamed corn dressed in butter. Accompanying the main course will be piping hot southern style yeast rolls with butter. Dessert will consist of freshly baked yellow cake iced with milk chocolate frosting on which will be dropped a dollop of French Vanilla ice cream. A rather basic and simple yet appetizing menu.
Our prayers and blessings are encapsulated in both the solemnity and great joy of this day and Fran and I wish each of you a glorious Easter Sunday.
I close this morning's post as I do my newspaper column each Saturday before Easter; He is Risen! He is Risen indeed!
Hi Kids,
Today will be a gorgeous day around these parts, and we deserve it!
Good weather for the little ones to look for Easter eggs in the back yard..
Having the good fortune to celebrate all holidays in my family, today will be a small group though....of course Bruce thought having both a ham and a turkey would be give choices..well sorry it's not going to happen Maybe I will flip a coin Bet the turkey wins.
On the menu here will be one of the above, and maybe the stuffing...sauteed brussel sprouts, mashed potatoes, and my cole slaw.
Make it a good one.

I finally had a much needed night of uninterrupted sleep. I really needed it.
Today the weather should be nice. Yesterday had some pretty wicked weather, then around 4:00 it cleared up and got warmer, eventually the wind died down and d/d and I had some relaxation time out on the patio. I ended up grilling chicken wings for dinner.
Yesterday was spent tidying and organizing the the kiddo's rooms. There's still work to be done, but really it's that time of the year where you have to pull everything out, look at it and determine if it should be kept, pitched or given away. It is just very time consuming, but it has to be done or the kids will not have room to move about in their own spaces and they will be unable to find anything.
Today, d/s has persuaded us to join Mr. Mike (one of our favorite neighbors) at his church for Easter Services. I don't know if you all recall d/s was smitten by a certain little girl who d/s found out happens to go to church with Mr. Mike. While I am sure d/s wants to go to church observe this very significant religious holiday...do you think perhaps it is because this lovely little girl might be in attendance? I fear he will be crushed if one little Miss Allie Applegate does not make an appearance.
After that we will be heading over to pick my Father up in Danville, IL and we will be meeting my sister and my niece for a lovely brunch at one of my favorite places in Champaign.
Morning Mates, and thanks to Todd for opening the morning thread while I had a lazy sleep-in!
It is another glorious weather day here in Pictou County, sunny bright, and supposed to go up to 20C like yesterday. At 68F that probably sounds cold to most of you, but believe me, it is heaven to us!
I plan another day in shorts and T-shirt, a bit of gardening, but mostly relaxing on the deck with a good book. My back is hurting from yesterdays' gardening, so I don't want to overdo it!
There will be no Easter celebration here, as we have no family around to celebrate with. Most likely, our Easter dinner will consist of meatloaf, but I can dream about Todd and Trip's menus....
Good morning, everybody.Well, the best known local Easter dawn celebrations were cancelled due to lack of funds. Those would have been the Crystal Cathedral and the Hollywood Bowl. Apparently, donations were significantly down this year.
The Easter menu here will remain a mystery until we head for the San Fernando Valley in a few hours for an afternoon celebration with Keith's son's in-laws. But they are all good cooks, so I'm sure it will be delicious.
Not going to be 80 degrees today where I am. And I'm not out on my patio perch enjoying my coffee This being home stuff is going to take some getting used to.
My day will consist of being buried in all the paperwork I collected yesterday, and working my way through it, to get ready for the depressing trip to the accountant later this week.
The best thing coming this week is the opening day of "America's Passtime"... baseball.
My mother's new live-in caregiver begins this week, having just arrived from the phillipines. I wonder if she knows how to make towel animals
Good afternoon from warm and sunny, Virginia Beach. To my fellow cruisemates, who celebrate, Easter, may it be a wonderful day spending it with family and friends. Todd, I'd love to be around to sample some of Fran's delicious holiday cooking. As for Rob and I we are having apricot chicken for dinner, a green vegetable, and potatos. Have a great day, fellow cruisemates!
