( I can't just tell you what it is, because I am southern, and we have to tell a story) NO FAIR SCROLLING DOWN
As you all know, Jim was assigned to go to Austin for two weeks, and I planned to go with him, to get out of here for awhile, but with sadness to be going to the town where I lost my baby. I had come to terms with it, and was looking forward to getting away, as long as it was with Jim.
The night after we found our destination, I saw the list of assignments for the others, and one stuck out as a place I would love to visit.
Well, today Jim was sent to Austin to check out the assignment, and to see what he needed to bring from work. Half way to Austin, his boss called, and said "Turn around, your assignment has changed"
It turns out that one of his co-workers lives in Austin and is having a personal problem, so he needs to work there, and stay in town. His assignment came open so Jim took it.
Are you ready to know where were going???
14 DAYS OF SUN, BEACH, AND RETT BUTLER, OH OKAY HE'S NOT REAL, BUT JIM IS MY RETT.
Is that the most exciting news? We need this so bad.
Luanne, I've never met you, but I've seen some of your posts on the board (I hope you book the Splendor with us in August!). I just wanted to say Yahoo! for you! Obviously you weren't meant to go to Austin, and Charleston is a great place to visit!!
Be sure to tell Rhett and Scarlett hi from the Cruisemates!!

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.“
Okay, This is the update. Background first, so you understand a little better.
The first consideration when we take one of these trips, is Jim. It has to be close to where he will be working, because he works usually 10 to 12 hours a day.
As luck would have it. He gave me the location in Charleston, I went to my favorite hotel web site, and BAMG first try I found the perfect place. !16 stories, over looking the river and harbor. Better yet, a shuttle to all the good things to see. I called to talk with them, and they said I could ride around with the driver, who makes the same stops each hour, and either stay on or get off, and he would pick me up the next go around. ( I do not have a car on these trips.)
On top of the hotel is a bar that is glass, and very romantic.
Then today... Jim calls and says they have changed the location. Now my ideal hotel is to far away.
The new hotel is better (newer) but there goes my shuttle, so close to everything I want to see (it's 10 miles from downtown) and my water view. Oh the new one has water. It's a pond in the back, that has an alligator in it.:o
But, The good thing is that I can be with Jim, and that is the most important thing.
