Good Morning CruiseMates!
I need to get an early start on the day today. I have a lot of stuff to do. Remember yesterday, how I mentioned the beautiful weather and the fact that the forecast was clear of rain? Well just scratch that, OK?
The kids and I had just discussed how much we liked having a pool in our own backyard where we can swim anytime we like, but we all felt the pool last year was way too small when our whole family was in there together. I wanted to argue with them and say no, there's nothing wrong with it, because there isn't but I have to be honest, it was the opposite of relaxation if there was more than two people in it, and so off I go to Danville on my pool hunting quest. I found a couple that looked nice and then narrowed my search after the third store I visited and then the sales lady asked if that was what I wanted, I nodded to the affirmative. At that point she rounded up a couple of guys to come and slide the box off of the low shelf on to a large rolling cart. We then made it over to the cashier who rang it up and then we rolled the cart to the door and waited for four guys to show up and eventually they all came and we went out to my truck and it took 5 of us to load it.
Then I was on my way. I pulled out of the parking lot and onto the country road that takes me back toward Indiana. I remember looking in my rear view mirror and seeing the black clouds following me. Of course I am not happy since I have a gigantic box that weighs hundreds of pounds that isn't going to get any lighter or easier to handle if it gets wet. So I fly back home, the storm is approaching rapidly. My neighbor who is unaware of the storm takes off down the road on his mower like "The Waterboy" to mow his Mother in laws yard a mile away. I didn't realize that was where he was headed until later. I run into the house, grab a utility knife and cut open the box end protruding from the tailgate and commence to wrestling out the contents of the box individually and placing them up on the porch. That turned out to work well, considering the very last item emerged just as the heavens started to let loose with an insane amount of wind and rain. I ran to the back of the house to pick up d/d's comforter that sat out there to dry after washing it.
So I returned to the front porch to finish looking at the pool stuff and watch the storm. The wind kicked up and all of the sudden my neighbor's utility trailer went flying about 6 feet, and crashed into his canoe, so I ran over and threw a couple of logs under the wheels and hoped the canoe was OK (it was). Then the hail came, I waited for it to stop then flew to go pick up the kids, because I wanted them home if we were going to have the storm of the century, but luckily nothing happened. The sun came out and that was the end of it...weird! It came up out of nowhere. So much for dependable weather forecasts.
Spent the rest of the evening outside hanging with the kids and neighbors. I did get a call from another neighbor telling me that our soon to be moving neighbor came over and asked if they had seen his cat... (the one that has since been neutered and his ears cleaned out with ear mites so severe his ears were raw and he was stone deaf) and is no longer roaming the neighborhood spraying everyone's patios and garages. Of course the good neighbor said they had not seen the cat, which is true, they had not seen the cat. Anyway the bad neighbor says...oh well, he must have ran off, just as well, I was gonna shoot him before we moved away anyway. I guess it isn't enough that they made the cat's entire life miserable, but they want to finish the job too?
All I can say is thank God the cat is safe and happy and this bad guy didn't get him. I cannot believe people are really like that. He is a very bad man, I cannot wait for him to leave.
Today I have what I am hoping will be d/s's final follow up appointment for his foot. He appears to be completely recovered aside from a bit of a limp when he runs. I am very proud of him, he's been a trouper. Then we'll likely come home and work on putting together the pool, so we might fill it up tomorrow.
Then this evening we have Karate and softball practice so it is, of course, a very full day.
I hope you all have a great day and make the most of it.
Another gorgeous day here, and it's Tuesday, Lucy day! BW, reading about your days, is like reading an adventure novel! My days, pale in comparison...
Saturday, there was a humongus water main break, effecting over 2 million people with a water boil in effect. Sunday we went down the Cape, so we picked up some water to get us through, as well as paper plates and utensils, since using water to wash dishes could get you sick...so we got back to find a reverse 911 message, saying our town was inadvertadly added to the list, and we were ok to drink our water..
Watching the news, and seeing people waiting hrs,and wasting gas and time for free water, you have to wonder why they don't ride up the rode a piece to just buy some water...oh well, theyjust lifted the ban for eveyone today.
Good thought to all, and to our lucky ducks on ships today...I hate your guts.
Make it a good one.
Trip, with her book & tea!

A quick Good Morning from cabin 9232 of the Celebrity Century. So far so good. Great meal last night and had some fun in the casino. Today is a sea day and IT"S HOT. I have a huge balcony but without Betty it may not get much use during the day. Right now it's boiling out there.
I hope everyone has a great day. I know I will.

Sure is quiet in my home! Don left Sunday morning, to ride with a friend to Kentucky. Sunday nights destination was just east of Nashville. Turned out to be a bad plan! He made it safely, by taking a more southerly route. He keeps saying, "I didn't know we would be gone all week!" Wonder how long he thought it would take to drive from here to there? Anyway, I've been busy, and getting a lot done in his absence!
So, BW, when is the pool party? You better buy a bunch of stamps! You have a lot of very close friends, here on CM. Better yet, we'll just drop by on Memorial Day Weekend! I know you can make room for all us, for a few days, anyway.
Trip, I bet Lucy is getting big. I know watching her keeps you busy, but what joy she brings you, too.
Ray, what woke you up so early? Thinking of some new mischief to get into?
We haven't had the rain that other parts of the nation has been getting, but the heat and humidity is here. We will be hitting the road in the RV in less than 2 weeks. Cooler temps are just a 1,000 miles away!
Well, lots of little things on my agenda for the day. Everyone have a great day!

Good Morning cruisemates! Had one of those very strange weather days yesterday, as we went through at least 3 seasons in a day. The only one missing was summer. Ghastly winds started in the afternoon, and by evening blowing snow moved in to make it darn right ugly. High today expected to be near 35F
Probably a good day to run through the cruise closet pulling out what I'm taking on my cruise next weekend, and gathering my necessary electronics together to double check I'm not missing power chords etc.
Not a lot going on today. I have more cleaning to do, and some time to waste, which is why I still have a house to clean.
Trudy, Your story was a good one, but I was also worn out by the time I finished it.
Darlene, I remember how much fun Don was, and how he liked to talk. It makes me smile. Do you by chance know a man named Don Piper from your area? He is a preacher, and I just finished reading his books. They are wonderful.
Mike, I hope you have a great cruise.
Henry, How are you feeling, and are you in any pain?
Trip, I was listening on the news a few minutes ago, about the water situation there. Boiling water is a pain.
When you we get to see the latest picture of Miss Lucy?
Good morning from SoCal. Looks like summer is here to stay. That means I've got to work on the closets and get the summer clothes out.
BW, what an adventure! My biggest adventure yesterday was trying a new entree salad at Huston's in Pasadena! Keith's adventure begins tomoow when he must get his driver's license renewed. Going to the DMV is always an adventure.
Nothing big planned for today, and unfortunately, no cruise in the near future.
We have been away from home for over three weeks. We drove from Connecticut to Florida and visited a niece in Virginia then took a cruise on the Oasis OTS. Afer the cruise we stayed a few days in Pompano Beach, then drove to Augusta Georgia to visit my SIL. Now after getting home it's back to reality. We are thinking of doing the cruisemates cruise on the Allure OTS. It would be more fun if some of you would come along.
