Default Sunshine Saturday

Good Morning Friends!! I am up and about early this morning. I am still trying to find the solution to parking in Miami. I just found United Airport Parking which gave me a rate of $87.04. I am not sure how secure this lot is. The ad says it is covered. If anyone has any input on this lot please let me know. They do provide a free shuttle to the port. I got an email from Hotels.com to contact their hotel experts about a park and cruise situation. We also changed our room. We had an outside on riviera deck. We changed to an inside 4J.It has a picture window with obstructed views. It is way up on Promenade deck forward. One deck above Lido. We won't have a balcony but there is open deck there outside of our room. I decided to try this and see what it is like to be up where the action is for a change. The cruise comes closer and I get more excited by the day. A I sat here typing this the radio has been on. They played Kokomo and the next song was Key Largo. Teasing me!!
Snake house for me today. I really do not want to go but I will. Have a great day all. If I get home for a while tomorrow I will check in.
Laura

Morning Laura, you're up even earlier than me! I couldn't sleep because unfortunately, I brought home an unwelcome souvenir from my cruise - as nasty cold! Woke up with it yesterday morning as we were getting off the ship. Nothing worse than a cold, departure day, AND flying/sitting in airports for a 12 hour day.....

Aside from the cold, the cruise was WONDERFUL! I had been afraid that Holland America was going to be too laid back for me, not that I am a party animal, but on Celebrity there was NO night life, everyone went to bed by 9:30 pm! Not on HAL. Yes, there were a lot of older folks, but they were dancing and singing the nights away in the dance clubs and piano bar!

I promise I will get busy today and start loading photos so I can get started on my review. But briefly, I will just say it was an awesome cruise and we had a really great time and met some really nice people.

Nice to be back, missed you guys much, and Laura, I love your lilacs in your signature!

Good morning Laura and WELCOME HOME RD!

You have a bunch of cruises coming up Laura and if I'm not mistaken there's yet another cruise in your not too distant future too Rollerdonna.

I am sooooo looking forward to your cruise review as well RD.

Not a lot on tap today. Fran want's to go to the Iris Festival being held this weekend in town. So I'll take her into town and then this afternoon get out on my trusty Husqvarna and mow my own "God's little acre."

I wish a wonderful weekend for all of my CruiseMates!

Todd

Good Morning CruiseMates!
Well it is another weekend indeed and all is well here.

We'll take d/d to her first softball game of the season this morning and see how that goes. If they win, they will have another game this afternoon. I don't know if the girls are up for it, but I am pretty sure that I am not.

I have so much that needs to be done here around the house but chances are it isn't going to happen. Tomorrow we have some other minor plans so maybe we'll get stuff done then.

I started getting out some warm weather clothes I boxed up last fall to start packing for our upcoming cruise. I still have a couple more boxes to go through, and I am trying to weed out clothes I no longer wear as well so I can get rid of them.

Not much else happening, I better go wake a little girl up so she doesn't miss her game. Have a great day all!

Default Soggy Saturday

Its a soggy Saturday for us.

Rain started last evening giving us 2.8 inches of rain overnight and there is alot more to come for us.

Its not bad in Galveston so hopefully anyone sailing out today will be ok.
Not good if you are flying in day of sailing. Could be flight delays.

We had planned to drive west to visit a no kill animal rescue place to visit a puppy Liz has picked out but the weather made them cancel our appointment.

We have a girl Beagle picked out that we can't take home til June.

Good morning everyone:

It's a beautiful day here in the land of 10,000 lakes. I've been up since 5:30 a.m. and have dusted, vacuumed and cleaned the kitchen. Yesterday we had a break from the rain and I was able to bail the yard. It hadn't been mowed since the day before I left on the cruise and it sure needed it.

I haven't been on much this week. With Betty's Dad and catching up on "stuff" here I've been pretty busy. There was also some bad news for the family. My brother's home in Texas caught fire and burned. The house is a total loss. The cause was a stuck toaster and a pop tart. My nephew put a pop tart in the toaster and forgot about it when they left the house to go to the mechanic. 40 minutes later they returned and couldn't get on their street because of the fire trucks. They wondered what house was on fire and were shocked when they saw it was theirs. It will be over a $500,000 loss but they are insured so it will end up being one big inconvenience and the loss of some irreplaceable items. Lessons learned: Don't keep your toaster under a cupboard, always have adequate insurance and pop tarts are bad for your health.

Grandpa will be taking care of the grandkids today and tonight. With as nice of a day as we have there will be plenty of outdoor time scheduled.

Welcome back to reality Donna: I'm too miss the warm Caribbean but it is sure nice to crawl into your own bed. Century definitely could have used a shot in the nightlife arm but we made the most of it.

I hope all Cruisemates have a wonderful day and a fantastic weekend.

Take care,
Mike

Good morning, where it is already 80 degrees, in Virginia Beach. I was out early doing my Saturday garage sales. I did pick up a sled for the grandchildren. (I was surprised to find one in this area; you usually find them at garage sales up north). Luck was on my side to find a kitchen storage piece to store some of my ever-growing shoe collection. Rollerdonna, glad that you enjoyed your cruise but am sorry to hear that you are "under the weather" now. Todd, may you and Fran enjoy the Iris Festival. Rob and I are going to dinner tonight at Smokey Bones; there was a coupon online for $10 off of a $20 food purchase. Make it a great Saturday fellow cruisemates!

Default Sunshine Saturday

Good morning from Southern California.

Welcome home, Donna!

Keith is on his way to Riverside to work on the Wright Project. My plan after posting is to change over my closet to summer. Yuck! Gotta be done, though.

Have a good day, everybody.

Judy

Sorry to hear your news Mike.
Being in Texas please let us know if there is anything we can help with.
Liz is the insurance guru so she can help there with questions or explanations etc.
