Morning Mates, I'm embarassed to say I had to look up yesterday's post to figure out what day it is today! I feel like I'm on an endless weekend....
We have been on a whirlwind tour of Nova Scotia since Sat. afternoon, and that includes picking up every morning, and dropping off everynight, 2 very tired brother-in-laws at their train hotel, which is exactly 35 mins. drive from our house! What were we thinking???
Yesterday we drove to Halifax (2 hours) and saw the Atlantic Maritime Museum, did a city double decker bus tour and saw the Citadel (a British Military Fort built in the 1700's complete with cannons, and a war museum), had lunch on the pier, and saw several ships in the harbour, but alas, not a single cruise ship.
My big disappointment of the day was that first my memory card in the camera showed full, and after busily deleting photos so I could take some more, the battery died! So I only got a few shots of the fabulous Titanic exhibit at the museum, which I haven't had time to download, but they'll be in the gallery eventually...
Meanwhile, we are up at the crack of dawn again today to pick up The Brothers and get them back to Halifax, to the airport this time. On the way they want to visit an Aviation Museum we saw along the way, so off we go again...
Todd, I hope Fran is doing better, and BW, hope the same for your MIL.
Have a good day all!
Good morning Donna and others that will come along.
Donna, I enjoyed the pictures that you posted. About being on an endless weekend, that is the way I feel since I retired in june of last year.
I wish your brothers-in law a safe trip back home.
Todd, I will continue to pray for your wife and hope that she is doing better.
Have a nice day everyone.

Good morning Rollerdonna, Manuel and all who follow.
Being a history buff, RD, especially WWII and the sinking of the Titanic, I can't wait to see the pics you did get of the Titanic Museum. There is now a Titanic attraction in Pigeon Forge (a similar one by the same organization is in Missouri) and they did a wonderful job, especially for a commercial enterprise. It's definitely worth the price of admission.
Also, hope you take some of the air museum today as well (please-please!).
Thank both you and Manuel and everyone else who has offered some much needed support to both of us during a difficult time. I shall be updating that thread as soon as I am through here. Suffice it to say, if I were in Boston with Trip I'd announce "There's happiness in Bean town today!"
Prayers continue for all those on the list, especially Beenie-Weenie's MIL now in the Detroit area.
Today we have especially good reasons to go to our Healing Service at Church at Noon.
Hope everyone has an absolutelyh wonderful Hump Day!
Good morning from hot and steamy NY .Yesterday we had the worst storm ever to hit this area since I've been living here ,massive power outages and flooding .More expected today .Its going to be in the 90's and our AC decided to take a vacation .The repair people cannot get here till tomorrow .
Good Morning cruisemates! I'm still waiting to see what kind of day is going to develop here. The forecast is for sun, and temps warming to to the mid 70s; yet the look of the sky seems to be denying that happening.
Todd.. congrats on what appears to be positive news!
Have some errands to fit into my day, but not much else on my schedule.
MIL was in excellent spirits today as they wheeled her off to surgery. It should take at least 7-8 hours. It is very involved and complex. She got a terrific night's sleep. The Doctor's came in early to see us and everything was running on schedule. I expect I will get an update mid-way through the surgery. The plan is to remove the weakened vertebra replace with a graft that is made of bone and titanium, remove the tumor that is causing her paralysis and perform kyphoplasty on the worst of the compression fractures.
Now I just sit and wait. I came back to the Hospital's Guest Lodge where I've been staying, rather than sitting in the waiting room all day. They can reach me here. I got my laundry done so I don't have to turn my underwear inside out tomorrow .
I really miss my d/h and the kids. But know I have to be here. No one should ever stay in a hospital alone. Someone needs to be there to advocate for them and insure their needs are met and pain managed. I never really knew how important that was until now.
I look forward to giving you all positive reports tomorrow! Take care all!
Good morning from hot and sticky Southern California. Looks like the weather mavens are predicting, once again, the monsoons. That's storms coming up from Mexico and bringing with them, humidity. Yuck!
Donna, I look forward to your pictures.
BW, you are so right about advocating for patients. I remembe wheny my DH was hospitalized.
Todd, I haven't read the "Fran" thread folr a coujple of days. Will do so now.
It's gym day. Later, we plan to have lunch at Mimi's and bring home a free 4-pack of muffins. Yum!
Good afternoon where it is supposed to be in the low 90's, in Virginia Beach. This morning I went to the gym, did some food shopping at Wal-Mart, and then ran a wash. In this hot weather, I tend to get a bit lazy. Rollerdonna, Rob and I just love Halifax; we've also seen the fort, ate at a great restaurant called McKelvies, and took a day tour to nearby Peggy's Cove. Also, visit the stores in and around Pier 21. Our thoughts and prayers go out to those who are not well. Make it a great day!
