as we are getting ready for our Capital Jazz Cruise in October, every night is a theme night..One night is 70's Funk night (Funk legend George Duke is the featured performer) and we have our outfits picked out (from the movie Under-Cover Brother ) complete with our theme music (from the movie) that will be played at the contest for best theme couples (yes I actually still have my platform shoes with the see thru golf fish heels)
It made me think that in the 70's every tv show had it's own theme song (i.e. Hawaii 5-0, Cannon, Mannix, Sanford and Son) that the minute you heard it you would think of the actor...the slang term is " travel music"
What would be your theme music if you were on the cruise..it could be from any era and any theme... when you think of our fellow cruisemates that you may or may not have met, what theme song would you associate them with .....I already know a certain young lady from up north her theme 'traveling music" would be "Staying Alive" by the BeeGees..when I think of Kuki I think of the theme song from the cartoon show Dudley DooRight..when I think of Paul I think of Theme From The Pink Panther etc.
The theme music choices for me would be anything by Jefferson Airplane or CSN .The only CM person that I have met in person would want a Neil Diamond theme cruise .

Wow, that is great, I couldn't think of a better one. It isn't james bond, but I'll actually like the song much better that say "Live & let Die".
I like Henry Mancini's use of the tritone in the melody. One a few songs that use it. Some of the West Side Story songs also do (Leonard Bernstein, can't beat him)

I would dedicate it to my wife (Rosanna), because life took on a different meaning when I met her. We have had a great life together and started to cruise on our honeymoon. We have traveled a lot since we have been married and I think that this song says it all.

First post in a while. I have been just fine and Facebooking too much. Thought I would make an appearance here. I am back in cruise mode! 8 week countdown. 8) Started tanning and training seriously yesterday.
Miami Vice is awesome and I still have white liinen sports coat from the 80's.

Yes, actually it does. I am the same size as I was in the 80's just less hair.
I am the opposite. I have all my hair, but I am not the same size that I was in the 80's.....
