Morning Mates, from another spectacular late summer day in Pictou County.
It's 9:30 am and already over 20C, heading close to 30, or in the 80'sF.
I'm thinking that a visit to the local water park might be a good idea today, as my free time to myself is running out fast...meetings and appointments this week, then back-to-school on Friday, it hardly seems possible the summer has gone so fast!
Hope everyone had a relaxing weekend, and that you're easing yourselves into another week....
Yet again today another scorcher with a high in the 90's. Supposed to be that way through Wednesday. I so hope this heat breaks but last week the forecast for this one called for high in the 80's. Yeah, right!
Enjoy your waterpark visit today, Donna. That's one refreshing way to beat the summer heat; the other, "Foo-Foo" drinks I suppose they don't offer.
I'm doing a "Fran" post this morning. Thinks are not only not improving but are degrading. I did laugh when I happened to re-read my post of yesterday wherein I wrote, "...depressed immune system." No those were my emotions, her immune system is only, "Supressed."
Have to get to my "husbandly and 'wifely' " chores and make the other quick post.
Prayers and Blessings continue and I repeat from yesterday, I hope everyone has a great start to the workweek.
Good morning all,
Up early today for no good reason. I've been enjoying sleeping late with summer break. The boy starts high school one week from today!
Going to the Cubs game tonight with a friend so I better to be sure to get my nap in later today!
Todd... I'm sorry to hear about Fran not doing well and pray things turn around for her soon.
Have a blessed day.

Good Morning CruiseMates!
The spirit of the Ren fest lives on as d/s is currently obsessed with sewing (yes that's right, he is sewing) his own archer's costume. He has swiped one of his Dad's old T-shirts and has cut the sleeves off of it. he has sewn a red cross on the front. He found an old red sweat shirt of mine and has taken the sleeves off of it and is now sewing the red sleeves to the arm holes of the t-shirt. Talk about cheap entertainment... I guess this is good, he is learning a life skill that all men (and women) should know. What an imagination he has!
I am feeling a little more energetic today. The drugs must be working. Had kind of a strange thing though. We went out to lunch after church. I was careful to have the area of the shingles outbreak well covered, as the fluid in the blisters can transmit chickenpox to anyone who is not immune or has a compromised immune system. I also kept a nice safe distance from anyone I knew who wasn't well (undergoing chemo or had a suppressed immune response) even though all precautions I had taken should have more than sufficient, I just didn't want to take a chance. D/H had chickenpox as a kid, and d/s and d/d had both gotten the varicella vaccine, I believe they got a booster as well before we went to Europe so I didn't worry too much about them getting cooties from me. While we sat there enjoying a wonderful lunch, d/s says to me, hey Mom I am so tired, I need to go rest. Well of course I have red flags waving and sirens going off in my head. So I discreetly pull his shirt up to see the very faintest pink/red rash on his abdomen. I wanted to die. Well the good news is that so far there's no blisters and it actually looks like it is going away. So maybe it is just a mild reaction muted by the vaccine, or maybe it is just heat rash or something else. Who knows?
Aside from all that excitement, today we go back to the salt mine. The house looks like a bomb went off (again) so I am sure I will stay busy today. Not much else on the go at the moment. Take care and have a great day!
Todd sorry I saw your post after I posted mine, tell Fran we'll be sending prayers her way. This has been one rough summer on a lot folks, lets hope we get some relief once the cooler weather hits.
It was a busy weekend with a trip to the Renaissance Festival, boating and finishing it with a movie. Yesterday we went to the 3:30 p.m. show of Nanny McPhee with the grandkids. I had to laugh at a couple of women who sat in front of us. They were having a fit because the children in the audience were making noise. Truthfully it was an audience of fairly well behaved kids. The noises they were irritated about were laughter of kids and some comments like "Mom, this is where the pigs dance." Of course my grandkids were quiet except half way through the movie when my grandson proclaimed: "I have to go potty right now!"
I finally had to lean forward and whisper to the women that they need to choose a better time to attend a family movie rather than mid-afternoon on a Sunday if they wanted total silence. I also added that there shhhhing, and complaining were more distracting than the odd laugh or comment by a kid. I guess that put them over the edge and they got up and left. I'm so mean.
I guess all the activity was too much for grandpa. After a number of days of feeling good and the old heart not flopping it started back flopping last night. The brain also decided to flop at the same time so it wasn't a fun night. This morning I'm feeling better and hopefully it was a short time problem.
Today will be a mellow day. I was planning on mowing the lawn when the dew dried off but the dark clouds in the west make me think that tomorrow will be mowing day.
I hope everyone has a great Monday and a FANTASTIC rest of the week.

Good morning from so very HOT Texas. I am so sick of this heat!!!
Yesterday Jim and I spent another day at Lowes. We are on a first name basis with several employees. I hope we now have all the supplies that the contractor has asked for, so that he can begin tomorrow.
I am not a decorator. I have no expenience with color. This is the first time in more than 40 years that I will live in a home with color on the wall.
We are only doing half the house, which was a good idea, because the house is a mess, but at least we can walk around. Those bedrooms sure had a lot of junk in them. I have no intention of putting it all back. Most will go to Goodwill, or the trash.
It has been a very sad time, because I had to once again go in Joe's old closet, and move things out. I found things like his bow tie, from ROTC and his comb.
You know what one of the hardest things to do? Washing his hand prints off the walls and doors. It was like I was letting him go again. Oh well, I guess he is laughing at his mom, and wondering how I could be so silly.
Today I have to finish the walls, and get the laundry done, because one of the rooms he is doing is the laundry room, so I will be without my machines for a week.
