Default Baseball Playoffs

The playoffs begin this Wednesday .I am really looking forward to watching games this year .The Giants who have not won a World Series since they were in New York vs.the Atlanta Braves . Both teams over the years had great players .The Giants :Willie Mays and the Braves:Hank Aaron .I'm sure both will be involved in festivities .The less interesting games will be between the Phils and Cinn .The Phillies have my alltime favorite active player in Jamie Moyer who will be 48 next month but alas he is on the disabled list .

Then we have the Crankees vs. the Twins . I look forward to seeing the Twins win 3 straight .
Texas vs.Tampa Bay is the other series

Henry,

I too am looking for the Twins in 3 straight. The reservation is that the Twins haven't done too well against the Yanke$$ this year. However, the Twins are a different, and better, team then they were last year.

Take care,
Mike

Default Texas Rangers

I have to support the Texas Rangers! I had season tickets for several years and I've attended all the home play off games they have been in so far, but that's not many. Now I live out in the country so I'll watch from the comfort of home this year. It will be a good week for baseball.

Texas has a much deeper lineup this year and they have never made the World Series so hopefully this may be the year. I was hoping they would have the Yankees in first round. They match up well against them with two good lefties. If we get by the Rays, they will take the Yankees.

I would love to see Carl Pavano shut out the Crankees .In my opinion Gardenhire is one of the best managers around .

Texas has Jeff Francoeur one of my favorite players .I predict a great game from Scott Feldman if he is on the playoff roster

Reckon I don't recognize any of them newfangled NASCAR teams. Is the "pitcher" a new title for the guy what's puts a round 'o wedge in the car?

You made two different points here, but neither relates to the other.

Texas has also never won a single playoff series.

The Rangers won't beat TB, and the Yankess will not beat the Twins.

Your right, they have only ever won one game. I think the Rangers will take TB because of better hitting. The Rangers had three starters out when they played TB earlier in the year. Both the Rangers and TB have two top pitchers, but beyond those two the Rangers pitching is better. It may be starter 3 or 4 that determines the winner. TB is lucky to get the Rangers in a 5 game series and not a 7 game. TB will be harder for the Rangers than the Yankees, the Yanks didn't want Texas in the first round--just ask the NY beat writers.

The Crankees intentionally wound up in the Wild Card .The Rangers will be victorious this year but I still predict the Twins in 3 over the Crankees .I own a Minn Twins baseball cap because people laughed at me from years ago when I claimed the Twins would win

I think so too. The Rangers sweep them in the last series a few weeks ago.

I only watch the World Series when it's the 7th and deciding game
(and I am a huge baseball fan)

did anyone check out on PBS Ken Burn's latest offering about Baseball..I thought it was well done and captured both the frustration and love that the fans have for the game

Congratulations to Roy Halladay on his perfect game and to the Texas rangers on beating the Rays. Jeff Francoeur had a double and a RBI

Alas things looked good for the Twins until the sixth inning. Liriano was pitching a great game until then. The Yankees went ahead by two runs and the Twins could not come back.

The Rangers played a great game!

I will be going to the Twins game today so I hope my attendance will be rewarded with a win.

Take care,
Mike

It's going pretty much as I thought it would so far. Sure looks like Rangers and Yankees as I thought. I think Texas will have home field advantage as Division winners so they will be hard for the Yankees to beat. Payback Time!! But I'm getting ahead of myself, we have to finish TB 1st.

Unfortunately the Twins lost in 3 . The Rangers lost last night but I still believe they will face the crankees and demolish them .

The worst baseball the Twins played all season was the last two weeks of the season and it carried into the playoffs. They didn't even look like the same team. Either they burnt out in September or they just ran out of steam. At least they won the division and gave us a good season.

GO RANGERS!!!!!!

Take care,
Mike

The Rangers have to go back to Florida for game 5. At least Cliff Lee will be pitching. I don't think the Rays can beat the Yankees, but Texas can. Go Rangers!

The five games in the ALDS has screwed the pitching rotation somewhat. I would feel better if Cliff Lee could pitch in Game 2, but looks like it will be Game 3 before he can start. That makes it tougher, but the Rangers have played very well against the Yankees this year. Go Rangers!
