I voted last Tuesday. Yes, I firmly believe everyone should vote. I think voting is the most precious privilege we have as citizens of the United States. So get out there and vote it is your right.

I agree that everyone should vote - especially those who had to wait longer for the right to vote.

As an outsider (Canadian) visiting the U.S. I have discovered the conspiracy/plot as to why you have elections every two years.

It is strictly a stimulus plan to supply advertising revenues to keep the television and radio stations, newspapers and printing companies in business

I will go and vote tomorrow. There is no reason for me to vote early so I do it on election day.

I must say that the phone calls have not been as bad as I thought they would especially since they were terrible prior to the primaries.

I will be VERY glad not to have the ads on tv anymore.

Phone calls will only subside for a little while. Presidential will start Wednesday to some degree.

I rarely ever get phone calls. I do think it is because I am on the National Do Not Call List. The few calls I did get I told them I was on the list and asked them not to call again. They always politely agreed.

I'm on the list also, so not sure why I get at least two call a day every day.

Political calls are exempt from the Do Not Call list ... as are charities, businesses you deal with (i.e. - newspaper subscriptions), etc. You might have known that the politicians would exempt themselves from this, too!

Fortunately, I have caller ID so I don't answer them but do get at least 3-4 a day.

If you vote of course you can complain .Especially if you find yourself voting for the lesser of two evils . That is what I did in the 1964 Presidential election .

None of the candidates are promissing a tax credit for going on a cruise.

A more sobering thought.

I heard an analyst on TV yesterday explain that we are not three trillion dollars in debt. When everything is extrapolated, we are (and I swear he said this), FORTY-SIX TRILLION DOLLARS in debt!!!!!

As for whose to blame? There's enough of that to pass around to both political parties.

Regardless of which side controls Congress following today, everyone best be ready for cuts that are going to hit everyone!

If this country's financial situation doesn't provide enough impetus to get out and vote, I don't know what could.

In August of this year I was at a county fair .There was a demonstration of the new voting techniques .I asked if there was still a provision for write in ballots and I was told I should have someone write in my name and be immortalized .I replied that I already was ,she smiled ,I laughed .

When we first came to the US My great uncle told my dad ( allways try to spend a little less than you make ).
It worked well for my dad and I allways did my best to live the same way.

I have lived here for 57 years and I have never seen our government try to live within the country's means.

I love this country, but we cannot keep spending more money than we take in.

"Get the Government off my back"??? When the Govt. (essentially us) owes trillions of dollars, they HAVE to be on our backs. And, unfortunately, even more so in the years to come...
