Does The Crew of the Carnival Splendor ???

get paid while the vessel is undergoing repairs or do they get reassigned to another ship thru for a short duration ?

they did one heck of a job during the crisis and hopefully will be recognized for their outstanding efforts

venice that is a very good question. I know I had read that for last week and this they were getting full pay and thier tips for last week. And Carnival was putting them up in hotels with money for food. But since it will now be out until mid Jan don't know what Carnival will do.

My guess is that they will send folks home whose contracts are up soon, and probably deploy the others to other ships in the meanwhile. They are going to need them all back once the Splendor is ready to go, and it sounds like they want to reward the outstanding performance of this crew. YOu may want to post this question to John's blog to find out for certain, a lot of folks are wondering the same thing.

Todd, I read some place that Carnival will continue to pay the crew. No tips but normal pay. I think Carnival has done well by most people impacted by this problem. Mike
