At work at Patrick AFB, FL. This was a couple of years before I retired from the USAF. Remember it very well.

I was in class, 4th Grade - Sacred Heart Grade School. An announcement was made by one of the Sisters and we all had to say a prayer - class wasn't the same after that.

In the UK, at home watching a game show on TV - remember it as if it was yesterday! I was in grade 6 at the time. I even remember what the TV programme was and what I was wearing!

All scheduled programmes were suspended - UK like the rest of the world went into a state of shock.

I seem to recall it was early evening & I was quite put out that TV was more or less cancelled that night. The "case" has always fascinated me, I watch all the conspiracy & documentaries, still not convinced whodunit.

I was in the fourth grade. I was on the playground, and one of the teachers came out of the school crying. All the other teachers begin to cry, and we were told to go back to class.

We were also sent home early.

I will always remember that day. I was at school, 8th grade and on my lunch break when the announcement was made. We returned to class for a short time and then the school was closed and we were all sent home, in tears.

It was my 14th birthday (today is my 61st) and I had a birthday party planned for that night. We still had a very small party but no one really had their heart into it and it broke up early.

The following days, as we spent hour on hour in front of the TV set watching the drama unfold and the funeral services, were some of the saddest in our lives.

I was in high school in a study hall The announcement was made for us to return to our homerooms and get ready for dismissal. I went home and spent the weekend with my family glued tothe tv.

I was a junior in High School. After the anouncement, school was dismissed and I went home watched TV with my family.
I still feel that sadness today.

Default Our world changed that day

I was a senior in high school in my French class. When the bell rang, others coming back from lunch were spreading the news of the President being shot. We couldn't believe what we were hearing. A few minutes later, an announcement came over the PA.
Our lives came to a standstill. Could we ever be the same again. The age of innocence was gone for us that day. Next stop, Viet Nam.

I was in Junior High and it was the first class after lunch when I first heard the news.

I too have become a student of the events of day. I am fortunate to have been able to interview and talk to many people associated with the day. DW's father was a Democratic Party official for Tarrant County, one of those in charge of the Presidential breakfast that morning in Fort Worth. Many at the breakfast were disappointed when JFK announced that Jackie wouldn't be able to attend, but all were pleased when she did later show up. She was wearing the pink dress that would become very famous for many reasons and worn all the way back to DC after such a long terrible day. DW's parents were also good friends with John and Nellie Connally and although the Governor was now living in Austin still had a home in Fort Worth. I know the Kennedy's requested a specific painting, The Old Swimming Hole, from the Amon Carter Museum to be hung in their room at the (at that time) Hotel Texas. It took longer to fly from Fort Worth to Dallas than it would have taken to just drive, but the next stop was to be Austin for dinner. After breakfast my FIL was in his car heading for Austin to help with the big reception to be held there. (In those days people in Fort Worth did not associate with people in Dallas) Nellie Connally, who was sitting in front of Jackie Kennedy in the limo told my MIL and wife her personal thoughts on the shots and they don't agree with Warren Report.

I was a young Marine E.O.D. tech, at Quantico, Virginia. I was sleeping, as I'd worked an unexploded ordnance call most of the night, and was catching up. BOY, did that wake me up. There were very few folks in the barracks as everyone was out working, but those of us who were there couldn't believe what we were hearing.

I was 15, we left school early, and went home to find my Mother and Grandmother in tears in front of the tv, as we stayed glued to it for the next 4 days...such a sad time in our history.

The Boston paper came out with a book called Four Days, which I have somewhere..

The Kennedy Museum is not too far from me....a visible memory as you drive around, close to Boston.

Before we moved to the country I used to go down to Dealy Plaza every year on 11/22. I met a lot of interesting people over the years. Something draws people involved to the site. There's always the conspiracy people, some legit authors, people who were there when it happened, etc. One year a lot of the actors in Oliver Stones movie were there. The plaza is pretty much the same.

I believe that I've read every book ever written on all the assassinations of the 60's.

A relative of mine designed several of the exhibits in the Kennedy Museum in Mass.
