Default Prayers for Mike

To quote Mike from the Saturday posting:

On Monday I go into the hospital and I'll have two procedures. The first will be to put a butterfly closure in the hole I have between the two upper chambers of my heart and the second will be the installation of my new three lead pacemaker. I'll have to stay in the hospital for a few days but should be back to my old self in a week or two. I hope so. Blowing the driveway felt more like I was shoveling the driveway rather than using a snowblower.

Mike - my prayers are with you ... hope you have a faster recovery than predicted.

Jane

No question everyone at CruiseMates is praying for a succesful surgery, and a quick recovery for Mike. At CruiseMates he's everyone's buddy, and everyone's willing teck support.

You couldn't find a finer, nicer guy, unless you knew me

I always make a point of reading Mikes posts, even if I'm not interested in the thread. He just always......well....makes so much sense:eek:

I wish him cool running and a speedy recovery.

Mike,

Wishing you a fast recovery.

Listen to the doctors & nurses and take it easy for the next few weeks.

I've worked in the "butterfly" procedure before. Amazing what we can do these days. We can also replace a heart valve the same way you're getting the patch--by a catheter run up from your groin.

The 3 lead pacemaker is a bi-ventricular defibrillator. Its supposed to make the pumping more efficient and protect you from a bad rhythm. No lifting with the left arm for a few weeks or you can pull the wires loose!

Mike, James was just asking me today how your health has been lately.
I'll have to give him this news, and we will both send you our best wishes!

Thanks everyone for the kind thoughts!

It should be a fairly easy time. I'll only be in the hospital for a few days. When I had the hole originally repaired I was in the hospital for two weeks and had a big 'ol scar down the middle of my chest. Now I'll just have a tiny scar in my groin. It won't be noticeable except when I wear my Speedo.

I've had a bi-lead pacemaker for two years but it just isn't doing the job so the tri-lead will make the heart pump more efficiently.

All in all it won't be too bad. Remember, I've done a fourteen day cruise with Kuki so I know what discomfort is.

Thanks again for all the kind thoughts and prayers. I will go in on Monday and I'll probably be so bored in the hospital that I'll be online. They have in room Wi-Fi just like the cruise ships. Too bad the food isn't cruise quality or I wouldn't leave.

Take care,
Mike
