I don't think there is anything I would detest so much that I would not do it. I hate art auctions but I'd go for the laughs. I'd probably be kicked out but I'd go.

I'll play Bingo for the heck of it. I know I'm throwing money away but that's fine.

I'm not a fan of pool games but if I'm with a group I'll get into it and won't be the party pooper.

I'm a terrible dancer but my wife and I can fake a slow dance. I actually wish I could dance better. As my father told me a long time ago: "Dancing is when a woman can be close enough to let you know she's a woman and far enough away to let you know she's lady." I think that message has been lost on the current generation.

For all the other stuff: If there is a large enough amount of money in it for me. I'm in. So if you see me Streaking across the atrium you know I just paid for my cruise.

Take care,
Mike

To be honest I have never found anything that interests me that much....the Glass thing on Eclipse was good, but once you have seen it....
All of the things above are things I don't much fancy...especially kareoke, just don't "get it"

I'd never join the Aqaua show on Oasis or Allure. My speedo would fall off when I jumped into the water, and then there would be a "short" murmur from the audience.

I wouldn't do any of the things people have mentioned. With the exception of dancing, they just don't interest me, and for me, dancing is painful.

I will not go in a casino. Too loud, too busy, and way too much smoke.
If a ship is built so that you have top pass through the casino to get somewhere, I will purposely go up or down a level to bypass it. HOnestly, I can't breathe in there!

Talking NOT do?

-- well, I have done almost everything somebody has listed. Not that it particularly appealed to me but my DW or somebody else dragged me to it, or I just wanted to see how it worked. I will admit the karaoke was as a spectator when my daughter sang.

The art auction is a positive kick!! One of the most honest auctioneers said, "Have some more of the free champagne. We sell more when everybody is drunk!"

Two things I passed on were the roller skating and the rock wall climb!

I'll try anything once so I can't think of anything I wouldn't do. I have danced, played bingo, karaoked (the more you drink the better I sound), eating, and going to the gym. I guess I wouldn't pick a fight with another passenger or do any thing that gets me kicked off the ship. Aside from that bring it on I'm on vacation baby. Okay there are some things Crazysis has done that I would not do. But she is my crazysis for a reason. I can't talk about the things crazysis has done; do to the whole sister thing.

1. Go to fitness classes.

2. Play bingo. (It's a "losing sum game" for the passengers.)

3. Sing at karioke (but I do sometimes listen).

4. Climb rock climbing wall.

5. Enter boxing match.

Norm.

My friends at your local Arthur Murray Dance Studio would be glad to help you to do so! (In my experience, the Arthur Murray studios generally seem to be better than the Fred Astaire studios.) They also have the advantage that you can transfer your lessons if you move or if you have a seasonal second home and you can go to a studio wherever you happen to be when you are travelling on land.

Now, if we could only get a cruise line to work out an arrangement to turn the dance lounge into a studio, with certified instructors, by day....

The response from "Captain Tennille" may well be valid. There's a difference between "eating" and "gourging"....

I would never think of quitting beer on a cruise. Nope. No Way.

Well, of course it is!!

(Drinking beer is too, of course ...)

The thing I notice is that in the Casino nobody looks as if they are having fun. They have to know it is a losing proposition, but they look as if somebody tied them to the chair and is forcing them to lose money. Everybody in the whole place is frowning.

Bingo, OTOH, is almost always FUN! The callers have fun, the players have fun, and every body has a smile on their face. Paying admission to Bingo is just like paying admission to any other entertainment event. So sometimes I go and just enjoy the fun.

Actually, there are some games in the casino in which it's possible to turn the odds in your favor if you know what you are doing. The casino makes money, however, because most people at the tables do NOT know what they are doing. Even so, gambling in a casino definitely IS serious business, though the better dealers do get some friendly banter going with the players.

BTW, in most casino games, the popular strategies are wrong.

Very, very wrong.

Norm.

Well, Norm, casinos LOVE people like you!

Except for card counting, which most casinos work hard to make VERY difficult and ban those known to do it, there is NO way to turn the odds in your favor. The very best mathematical studies I have read can give you about a .995 long run return. The house is not going to let you get around its edge.

But if you believe different, you will be welcome in any casino in the world!
