Linda, I too have found many typos etc in some of the books on Kindle and have a feeling that it will continue. Last week I received 3 emails from Amazon with info about getting updated/corrected books, which I did get. It is nice to see that Amazon is getting corrections and sending notifications about when possible.

Not all published books are available in kindle or nook .Therefore ,I urge the use of book stores ,especially stores that sell used books ,they are "dying."

I have noticed typos and out of order pages.

My lastest read is the new book by Dick Cheney. It is long, but very good, if you like the workings of politics.

Henry, They said the same thing about typewriters. E-readers are the future.

People who sold typewriters went on to sell other things ,perhaps computers .

The nook and the kindle are putting the "mom and pop" bookstores out of business .In NYC when I was a kid there were hundreds of used book stores ,now less than 25.

Secondly:

Its almost impossible to have a Small Press book in a kindle .Yes ,this is my personal bias as I authored a book with this type of publisher

Henry, People who sale books will go on to sale other things too.

I love books. I was our local book store's best friend, but once I bought a kindle, I never looked back. It is to easy to read what you want, when you want it. It is so easy for a traveler to take muliple books, with a Kindle or e-reader, Half my suitcase was packed with books, now I have a Kindle that fits in my purse, with many books. I don't have to worry about dusting them, giving them away, and the dreaded damaged book, borrowed from the library.

I saw a program yesterday about a new e-reader for students. One day all text books will be on e-readers, so no more over size back packs, and the dreaded inventory for teachers at the end of the year, collecting all those books.

There will always be books. In fact any hard back books you might have that are worth something now, will be priceless one of these days, but we must move forward. It is in my opinon, a positive sign of the times.

I'm sure it must have something to do with royalties, contracts with the author, etc...;(

Hard to picture Stone with a teenage son, but, like all his books, he has me from page one

The charatcter Elaine, in his books, was a real life restraunteur, in NYC, who passed away this year. Glad to see, he is disregarding that fact, and she is alive with love, in this book, and, for all his books to come.

Trip, The book that I am reading right now takes place in China Town in Boston. Is there really such a place, and is it a safe place for tourist?

Chinatown is a great place! Used to be on the fringes of what used to be called the Combat Zone. But, you know how we Bostonians roll. we got it outta there! Now Chinatown is a nice tourist destination.

We have a local restaurant in my town, called Chinatown..All the cooks in suburban restaurants are bussed out daily from Boston, to cook, and then bussed home. Consequently, we have delicious food..yum.

What am I doing wrong? I've searched for Emerald Moon on Amazon and it's not coming up? I have the other two and wanted to get that one too.

I'm reading Same Kind of Different As Me right now. Anybody read that one?

Thanks for all the ideas, I'm off to see about John Locke now.

From Rreader News Today: wow!
Kindle Tablet To Be Unveiled?

The Kindle tablet thatís been talked about for the past few months is rumored to be unveiled tomorrow. The name of it is supposedly the Kindle Fire.
This tablet will display content in full color, run Android, and have a 7-inch touch screen. This will be the first Kindle with a color screen and it will be back lit.
Amazon has a news conference scheduled for tomorrow, September 28, and it is widely believed that the announcement for the Kindle Fire will be made then. The rumored price is somewhere around $250 and it should be shipped sometime in November.

Wow, they sure released a bunch of new Kindles today! Besides the Kindle Fire that Trip was talking about, they released one they just call "Kindle" that still has the page turn buttons, no physical keyboard, and costs $79! Then there are the "Kindle Touch" options. They have no keyboard (they have one that pops up on the touchscreen) and come with or without Special Offers and with or without 3G. The prices on those are $99 and I think $139 for the special offers ones and $149 and $189 without. They still have the ones with the physical keyboard, called "Kindle Keyboard", too.

So many options to choose from! I'm still really happy with my K3, but the touchscreen and smaller form factor has me interested.

Oh, and the Kindle Fire is only $199!
