Kindles and Ipads,and Books, oh my:) - Page 17

I have a question and please forgive me if it as been asked before, I didn't want to have go through every post to find the answer. I have a Kindle Fire. If I purchase another Kindle of any kind can I transfer books between the two kindles? I was thinking of getting one of the basic readers for my mother and I have so many books on my Fire that I know she would like to read. She doesn't have access to the internet or wifi to be able to access books online to download. Is this possible. Thanks.

I'll let one of the others answer since I am a newbie to the ebook business but I do know that you can borrow books from one kindle to another other for something like 14 days and from your local library...but I don't know if you can transfer if it's not on the same account.

Judy, I just got finished with the Terri Reid series. Not the best written books but a nice lite and fun series. Grave Witch by Kalayna Price popped up on FB. It looked like about the same type of thing. It said if you like Anita Blake (Laurell K Hamilton) Mercy Thompson (Patricia Briggs) or Rachel Morgan (Kim Harrison) (I love all three) then you'd love this series because it's about a PI who can talk to ghosts. Hmm, sounds more like Mary and Terri Reid to me.

Yes we do. You can have up to 6 kindles, with the same books

I just finished Gun Games by Faye Kellerman, if anybody out there reads her. I thought it was really good.

I know other people answered but I thought I would add in what I knew. I have a regular kindle not a Fire or one with 4G. My Kindle does have access to the internet. I just have to turn the wireless on then send the book from my amazon account directly to my kindle. My hubby and I share books all the time. My amazon account has Mike's kindle and Sherry's kindle so depending on whose kindle is chosen that is where the book goes. I normally keep the wireless off because it eats the battery life and I need to recharge more with wireless on. I hope that helps. I love love my kindle. In fact I drive my hubby crazy because I'm always reading it. I have a lighted case for it and the light helps a lot for reading.

Thanks Sherry, I want to get my mom one that is really simple to use, but able to connect to wireless. I can take it to my house and load it up with books (we read about the same type books). I have so many already loaded on my Fire that I would like to load on whichever one I get her. I now know it's possible so I can start trying to find one for her.

I highly recommend getting the case with the light, its great. I read every night, before I go to sleep and no need to have a reading or light on, just the light from the case is plenty.

I have been a Library Patron for over 40 years and was so happy to discover a new world of the Library with my Sony Reader. I don't buy books but download from the Library. A whole new world of learning has opened up with the reader. Just finished "Sugar Nation" and "Jagger" and am reading "All Creatures Great and Small" and waiting on the story about "Sony Barger" and a few more to be released from hold.
The reader is easy to carry and hold. And like I said a whole new world of reading and learning has opened for me. Also it saves gas from driving and I don't have to wait for them to open or worry about other peoples germs in case they were sick when reading. Happy reading.

I got my reader after my last cruise so I haven't cruised with it yet, but it goes with me every where I go. I actually read more than I use to because of this technology.

Does anyone put pictures on their Readers? Or Music? I was able to put a photo of my Dog and another of SunFlowers. When it is on sleep mode I can have one of those on the cover. I like that feature. I have a few songs on there but don't carry headphones. Maybe time to start.

I just finished a terrific James Patterson book, Private #1 Suspect. It's a real pot boiler and kept me reading it almost no matter what!

Does anybody out there like Carol Nelson Douglas, or Carolyn Hart?

I've not read James Patterson.

For those of you that have read The Hunger Games, the movie is coming out this spring. I won't get to go...but I'm not sure if I want to see it on dvd when it comes out. I'll wait and see what other peeople have to say, if it's worth watching.

I just saw the previews of Hunger Games. Since it's not a genre I read, I had no idea what was going on, but for fans of the book it seemes good, if that makes any sense.

I love James's Alex Cross books..I have shied away from his dual authored books recently, because the last one I read, was just bad....maybe I will take a look.

I have a question… With the Kindle Fire can I go on any websites like CM and post? I know you can do FB and play some games. D/H gave me an IOU for a tablet of my choice and the fire looks like the right fit for me…..I’m not a fan of the I pad.

Anyone know how long it takes for the bestseller ebook price to go down to paperback price?

Those who download the freebies...do you read many of them? I've been reading some. You get some better than others. Some are pretty good and others are pretty bad. I am currently reading one with a five star rating by a newbie and it is actually a five star book.
