Stranger Beside You...is that the Ann Rule book about Ted Bundy? Nope, that is Beside ME, isn't it? Whatever, I read it years ago. It is creepy. Why would they offer an old book? Never mind me, I'm blabbering.

And, I do agree, FB is great for the freebie kindle books. You'll never be able to read them all. Some of the ones I've read are really good.

Amazon.com: The Shoemaker's Wife: A Novel (9780061257094): Adriana Trigiani: Books

Have any of you rerad any books by Andrea? Lucia Lucia, and the Very Valentine [the shoemaker] series, are just fabulous reads, they will sweep you away.

I can't wait to read her new one...Stone Mountain Gap, I believe was her first book...

I am reading a book called "The Killing Room" by John Manning. Boy, is it ever spooky! It's a Kindle version for $3.99. I do NOT plan to read it at night.

Amazon currently has a four pack of JR Rain's Vampire For Hire series to download to Kindle for .99c right now. Urban fantasy. I've downloaded it but not started yet as I'm reading another book...but the books have good reviews and you can't beat the price.

They are not a genre that I read but that is definitely a great price. I know I have gotten many books that I have thourghly enjoyed for $.99

I also enjoy every James Patterson book I've read, actually reading one now about this kid with both parents as attorneys and he also wants to be one...Just got into the 2nd chapter, so far, so good. My favorites are the Alex Cross series...

Calling all Rita Mae Brown fans! "The Big Cat Nap" is due April 3. "Sneaky Pie for President" will be out Aug. 7. I hope these books are better than the last one. It was too preachy.

I too hope she puts the nip on the preachy stuff. If she wants to teach a political science class, let her get hired at a university. She does have a Ph.D. Otherwise, I wish she'd leave it out of her mystery books where the main characters are animals!

Rant over.

She just about ruined what would have been a fine book the last time.

I am almost finished with Patterson's "Guilty Wives." You're on the edge of your seat the whole way through and chewing your nails at the same time. It certainly turned me off on going to France! Read it and you'll see why. I wonder if what he says about their laws is true.

I may look into them.

I put the Rita Mae Brown book that came out today on my book list for my club to ship later this month. I thought about downloading it for kindle and then thought better. I just hope it's not too preachy.

It seems that amazon thinks what I usually read is dark fantasy and sent me a list of books I might be interested in. I've read them all but the pre order. They actually should know that...

It's funny how they group books. The same set of books at goodreads can and often is called paranormal or urban fantasy. It's all about the same difference...although you won't find Rita Mae Brown in that group.

Moraine, Rita Mae Brown's new book should be on my kindle as we "speak." I'll let you know about the preachy quotient!

Thanks Judy! If I didn't love Murphy, Pewts, Tucker, and the gang so much I might actually swear off the book after she went on such a tirade on that last book. There was just no sense in going so overboard like she did.

Just finished Rick Murcer's new book, "Caribbean Rain." Trip, did you read it, too? Gory, exciting, and wow, what an ending!
Can't wait for the next one, but it looks like that will be a while.

Yes, I'm in the middle of it now....I envy anyone, who hasn't read the series, and can read 4 in a row, whatta ride! I love the way he writes.

I have been dealing with Doubleday book club for a while now,and think I finally got the issues squared away, with books I ordered in Feb, and, had not yet received.. J.D.Robb's new one,,Sophie Kinsella's,and, Guilty Wives...At the end of the conversation, I said now, what are you going to do for me, for all this aggrivation? I ended up getting Stuart Wood's new one, Unatural Acts, free...I deserve it

Wow Trip. What a pita. I downloaded Murcer's first three because they had them bundled. I'll get to them. I'm reading a freebie right now that is really good. I had downloaded a Patricia Briggs I was going to read but got to reading the freebie. It's so easy to get sidetracked. There are just too many books.

I am friends with Rick on FB...I told him I have a new story line for him.
A nice couple get disembarked from a cruise ship...they end up at the spooky hospital on a hill....murder and mayhem ensue... I would read it

Moraine, I just finished Rita Mae Brown's new book, "The Big Cat Nap." I learned more about drag racing and car insurance than I wanted to. It was somewhat of a lecture but not as bad as the last book.
