I'm sure I'll be reading it too. I need to go put it on my wish list. I usually do that with the preorders. I do that usually instead of preordering so I know when they hit. Thanks for telling me!
I'm reading the last of the Chicagoland Vampires series (that's currently out). I'm thinking about starting the Alera Codex series next. What are you guys reading?
It is the story of Harry Bosh, of the LAPD. I have been reading about him for years, and in fact long enough, that his daughter has grown up. The series is so well written, that reading a new one, is like checking about in to see what he is up to.
I was able to get five of the six Alera Codex books at the library today. Having to buy only one means that I will be reading the series next. I wasn't totally sure I wanted to spend the dough on this series, so being able to read most of them for free means I'll do it for sure.
Hmm, do you guys know something that I don't? Does he write mystery? Thrillers? What? I'm usually not much into thrillers other than maybe Lisa Gardner. I like her DD Warren series.
I'm reading the first book in the series I got. Making the jump from urban fantasy back to epic after a long while away from epic (other than finishing up WoT back in Jan...I had waited years for that book release.). I've read this guy's urban fantasy series. What I'm reading is good but think his natural talent tends toward urban fantasy.
I finally finished the six book Alera Codex series by Jim Butcher. It wasn't bad...but it's pretty standard for epic fantasy. He is a better urban fantasy writer. I downloaded the latest Mercy Thompson book by Patricia Briggs this afternoon and there is a book coming out tomorrow that I want to read, so I'll download that. I think another one of my favorites writer recently had a book come out, too. I've got no shortage of books...just time.
In 1988 I wrote a book .My publisher had a contract with Barnes and Noble and Brentano Books .Used copies have popped up in book stores in Chicago and Los Angeles ,possibly other cities . When I first mentioned that I am an author a few people on CM asked me for the title and I advised that it is impossible to buy a copy because it was out of print but if somebody desired to read it I had several copies left from my publisher and I would send copies free of charge . Manuel , Todd and Venice have read my book as well as a couple of other CM people.I no longer have any extra copies.
Earlier today I was told that my book is being sold on Amazon.com as well as a private bookseller for $27.00 .This was not authorized by me or the publisher and therefore should not be purchased .
I finally got around to starting Unintended Consequences. I should be finished by tonight.
I have a friend who has a couple of books out. His name is Jon L. Brown. He has two or three childrens books, and three novels. I haven't started them yet, but others say they are good. All must be downloaded on a thingy, so no hard copies.
LF I never did see where you said the name of your book. Is there a reason you are not telling us?
I am currently reading, "Daddy loves to dance", by Mary Higgins Clark, so far so good. Recently finished Safe Haven, which is now a movie....also good.

Jon's books are on Amazon.
I posted the name of my book a few years ago but that post was removed because it was thought that I was trying to sell my book .In reality I offered a free copy to anyone who would give me an address or the address of their local book store .
I sent copies to Todd and Venice and gave copies to Manuel and a woman named Angie who used to post on CM .
***I no longer have the capability to offer free copies .
A first: my latest box from Amazon had three books in it. . .all three by authors who are personal friends. I'm very fortunate.
1. Bob Dotson's "American Story" was devoured in two days. Those who see Bob on the Today Show know what he does and how well he does it. He carries "human interest" stories to new heights. The book is amazing.
2. For Sherlockians, Roger Johnson and Jean Upton's "A Sherlock Holmes Miscellany" is a great primer for Sherlockian newbies, and a fine reference for veterans. Roger and Jean are husband and wife, and sparkplugs of the Sherlock Holmes Society of London. Dame Jean Conan Doyle actually attended their wedding. We enjoy visiting with them when we're over there, and they're coming over to this side in August.
3. Washington author Dan Stashower has published an intriguing new book, "The Hour of Peril: The Secret Plot to Murder Lincoln Before the Civil War." I've just begun it, but I know it will live up to Dan's usual high level of interest and scholarship. It tells the tale of a seldom-discussed plot--a "true crime" that failed--and features the early work of a private detective named Allan Pinkerton.
So I get to have three books autographed, probably over dinner tables. How fun.
I know that most recommendations here are for fiction, but I thought I'd throw in some things by my pals.

AR, the books sound good. At one point in my life I would have gone right to Amazon to order the stuff. At this point in my life, alas, about 98% of what I read is fantasy of some sort. The other 2% is usually mystery or thriller.
Enjoy the books. I think reading is better than tv or video games.
