Default Person of the Year

Time magazine name Facebook founder Mark Zuckerburg their Person of the Year for 2010. (not entirely sure why, because Facebook has been around for a long time... except this year there was a movie made about him).

Who would you name Person of the Year if you were in charge of selecting?

Dave The Wave based upon his pictures that he posted on his latest cruise :: ::

if it were localize, I would vote for Drew Brees..not only did he lead our Saints to the Super Bowl victory, but he and his family have become so immersed in the rebuilding of New Orleans and he has literally carried an entire region on his shoulders..folks forget, he turned down more money that was offered by the Miami Dolphins and signed with the Saints..he had a serious injury with the SD Chargers that everyone said he was finished, but he endured which is why the community can identify with him

my third choice would be Paul M ;:

Paul M, would be a good choice. Afer all he is an excellent writer.

Katlady would also be a good choice, She does a wonderful job posting virtual cruises on the (who's last thread).

Never heard of Mark Zuckerburg, but having said that, I can't think of a single person from last year that really struck me as being "person of the year" material. Maybe I too will have to go along with the nomination of "Dave the Wave" as person of the year. (Yep, I noticed the pictures too.) Since I know Dave personally, I also know that he's way to humble to accept such an honor, but I'd nominate him anyway. WAY TO GO DAVE!

I think it should be a group of people this year. Those who woke up and realized our country was on a run away train, and something had to be done. They organized, researched, and spoke their mind.

Will..Kat is pretty cool..but on a serious note, i think the Person of the Year, should be couples (there are many on these boards including Kat) that are happily married in the face of the % of higher divorce rates..I'm not talking about long term (25+ years) but between but between 7-20 years ...lot of pressure out there to actually be happy and loyal to one's spouse

It's different for different people. It hasn't been too hard to remain faithful, happy and loyal.

Take care,
Mike

And to put up with a person of Portuguese background.

We can be a handful. If you don't believe me, just ask my wife.

In the UK -it is probably Nick Clegg, our deputy PM, for many people including me.

At least try to understand. Read the article!

For connecting more than half a billion people and mapping the social relations among them, for creating a new system of exchanging information and for changing how we live our lives, Mark Elliot Zuckerberg is TIME's 2010 Person of the Year

That's not fair, and untrue. I always tried to teach my kids not to bunch people up, in order to say bad things about them. You should have been there for that lession.

They sure played good football last night.
