Default We are getting a White Christmas in the south,,,

For the 1st time in many years we are getting snow on Christmas day. The local weather guys are calling for us to be snowed in by a.m. Of course this is all relative,,,we are in the south. But it sure looks pretty tonight.

Hope all the folks traveling for the holliday gets home safe and sound,,,should be fun if you have to travel anywhere near the east coast.

We are also expecting 2 feet of snow tonight here in Central Connecticut.

We hope that the roads will be clear on tuesday morning, since we plan to start our drive to Florida at that time.

Talking Rain rain rain

California is being innundated with rain ...

But a gentle continuous rain in most places with warm temperatures, mostly in the 50s.

Yesterday we had a break in the weather and drove up into the Sierra Nevada under beautiful blue skies. I don't think I have ever seen the distant snow covered mountains in such breath taking clarity!

Blue skies again today but more rain predicted.

Rub it in? Who me, rub it in??

Maybe you should have booked a Caribbean cruise for this week ...

A Caribbean cruise would be good IF you could get to the embarkation port!

We ended up with 14" here on the coast of Va. Amazing is all i can say.

Now we are dealing with winds/drifting and downed tree limbs,,,which of course makes for power outages.

Did I say I HATE winter???

It was pretty when it was coming down yesterday,,,but I'm over it already !!!

Talking

on hating Winter Travelnut!

Last year I was hating it as well. I spent one month up in the mountains on storm recovery duty after a massive ice storm and then several 6+ inch snow storms along with daily snow showers! By the time I was through, I knew the only thing that could get that cold out of my bones was to head somewhere warm in the Caribbean ;-)

This year , looks like I am going to head nearer to the equator... just in case:-D

I'm thrilled that you southerners are getting to know the joy of breathtaking beauty that we New Englanders have experienced on many, many occasions in the past!

Norm,,,

I'm a transplant to the south from Michigan,,,believe me I've "seen" enough snow to last me a life time,,,,after this past weekend I'm thinking I might need to move a little further south.

I here y'all!

Seriously, I also have a major latitude problem -- and I intend to do something about it as soon as I can retire!

...and strangely enough, here in northern Nova Scotia, we had a mild, rainy and very GREEN Christmas!
