Yours are always good, Ray, because they offer so many possibilities!

The terraces on the hillsides make me think of a river in China. The Yangtze? But no, not with that white building on the right.

Now the boat in the background seems to have a German name so my next thought was the Rhine.

For pretty sure, it is NOT the Nile! ;o)

Agrees with Mike, that is the Rhine probably down towards the Wine regions of Rüdesheim, near the Lorelei Rock (as Bingen is also a nearby village).

Lovely part of the world for a quiet relaxing river cruising.

I would have to agree that it is on the Rhine River. Possibly in the St. Goar area?

I vote for the Mosel River as there are more grape vineyards on Mosel than Rhine; of course, it could be the Rhine or another German river.

No other river in the world has a greater concentration of castles or castle ruins that in the Rhine Gorge, between Redesheim and Koblenz. Steep slopes, many covered by vineyards and dotted by castles, are accompanied by picturesque villages like Boppard and St Goarshausen. We also passed the famous Loreley Rock, the narrowest and deepest point of the Rhine River. Today there are many stores about the Loreley, particulrly about Lore, the daughter of Father Rhine. We were on the sun viewing all these sights. Castles we view were Stoizenfels, Marksburg, Rheinfels, Cat Castle, Pfalzgrafenstein, Soneck, and Rheinstein. Villages we passed were Boppard, St Goarshausen, Kaub, and Assmannshausen. While up on the sun deck we has the opportunity to visit the Wheel House. Very small and simple. The Captain was at the Helm as we sailed down the mighty river.
