Hi everyone, I started this yearly poem early last week, but as the weather got worse and I lost internet and power, I adapted it a little...
Here is 2010's version of T'was the Night Before Christmas, CruiseMates style...
T'was a few days before Christmas, when all through the land
The CruiseMates were dreaming of sun, surf and sand.
They dreamed of a cruise ship, to take them away
From the dreary routine of their lives every day.
For the weather this year had been particularly rough
Leaving CruiseMates to deal with all kinds of stuff. RD up in Canada had wind, rain and flood
While Judy & Keith in California had nothing but mud.
In Minnesota, Mike & Betty had to blow snow
While across the country temperatures dipped low. Beenie Weenie in Indiana was stoking the corn stove
While Mates in most places took care when they drove.
Even in Florida, Ken & Vita and Ray & Helen felt the chill,
Along with Laura, Gaile and Angela and our friend Phyll.
Floridians as a rule were not used to this cold,
They all wished to be further south, if the truth must be told.
On the east coast were Trip, Manuel and Henry43
All cozied up by the fire with a hot cup of tea.
Further north VTJen and Cruwysie suffered the cold too,
Along with Donna, Aerogirl, Lisa and Travelgalsue.
The only ones it seemed who were not feeling the freeze,
Were Luanne & Jim in Texas, and Todd in Tennessee.
And of course in Arizona, were Kuki and Paul,
Enjoying some golf, the envy of us all.
And then came the storm, that took out the tower,
Destroying my internet and even my power.
I was cut off completely, left all alone
No contact with family and friends far from home.
Christmas day came and went, I sat here and thought,
How my CruiseMates were doing, did they miss me or not?
Did they have a nice Christmas, was the weather all right?
Did Hez let them know of my unfortunate plight?
I suffered withdrawl, being away from my Mates,
I tried to go online at the library, but I was too late.
They were closed for the holidays, like everywhere else,
I sat home all alone, feeling sorry for myself.
So I sat at the computer, at least Word Pad still worked,
And wrote out my poem to express how I was irked.
I missed you all this Christmas, but I still hold you dear,
And I wish all of you a most Happy New Year!
Yes old pal, we thought of you for a week
Old mother nature, she had such terrible cheek
To leave you in such a sorry state,we gave her much flack
But now after so many days, we finally got you back.
Hope ypu are here to stay....xo as always good job!

When I was working it was my task every year to write a christmas poem or song in which the name of every employee was listed . I did try to do one with CM but alas I could not do so.Congratulations on your endeavor .
Great poem RD! Very clever. Glad to see you back in cyberspace but I noticed on the news this a.m. that once again N.S is getting socked with that nor' easter. They said a lot of people are without hydro (power to those south of the border) Hope we don't lose you again! Maybe we should rename Captain Tennille-Captain Grinch.

RD Thanks for the poem, I loved it. Yes you were missed. I may not post as much as in the past but I do come and read. CM is special and the people here have become good friends.
Have the greatest New Year everyone.
