Morning Mates, honestly, if it wasn't for my pillbox, I don't think I'd ever know what day it was.
The sun is shining brightly this morning, and although that doesn't sound very impressive to most of you, it is AMAZING to me, since we haven't seen the sun in 10 days!! It is finally clear, crisp, cold and white like Dec. is supposed to be.
I will venture out today for the first time in a week. Enough snow has been cleared so that my Air Boot shouldn't be too much of a problem, I'll just tie a bag over the toes.
I have errands to run and maybe will venture into the mall to see what Boxing Week specials I can find. And, I have a gift card to spend!!
Mike, hope you are recovering nicely from the "Norovirus" that hit you. I'm hearing on the news that a nasty gastro virus has hit local hospitals and nursing homes. I'm glad I stayed home!
Good morning A warmer breeze is blowing some nice temperatures for us here today and tomorrow. We should make it in the mid 40 today and the mid 50’s tomorrow. Today we’re going to be tourists in our own town; we’ll take the train downtown and see all the beautiful lights, holiday windows & buildings. I couldn’t even tell you when the last time was that we did a tour of the city. I too am a big fan of the sun, no matter how cold outside it’s always nice to have sunshine RD.
RD… I do know how that goes with the pill box. I have a blue one! :-D Have a great day everyone!

Good morning Rollerdonna, Trip, Aerogirl, Mike and Phyll and yes, I've a weekly pill box as well and yes R/D, I've also looked at it to remember what day it is. :-) Matter of fact, I have a blue one as well (along with a white one). Fran always set up my medications (probably as could Mike, I could open a drugstore with just what I take).
Tux and not on a cruise? Did I miss something Mike? Geesh, if nothing else, your outfit alone will serve to keep you in line. Guess you're the "Safe Driver" for the night, huh?
Hi Phyll! Yup, I'm still around! To quote a line from Young Frankenstein, "He lives! He Lives!"
While not completely over the bronchitis, I am quickly getting there. Got on the scales this morning. When Fran died on Nov 8, I was 293 lbs. This morning I'm 258. I'd like to keep going down to around at least 235 which at my age and height, 6'4" is fine. I should as I'm not dieting, I just don't have much of any appetite although little by little I think it's returning. Wherever and whenever the scale shows I'm starting back up, I really want to watch what I eat and drink so I'll want to at least stay where I am. What really helps is while I love to cook, I don't like cooking just for myself so that I'm sure adds to the weight loss.
Hope everyone has a wonderful day. Now I have to get to work doing my household chores in an effort to play catch-up.
Prayers for those on my list and Blessings for all continue unabated.
I posted our plans in Henry's NYE thread. Betty and I will be attending a party that is being hosted by friends at the Windows on Minnesota atop the IDS Center. (Minneapolis' tallest building) It is a formal NYE party so I had to dust off the tuxedo.
We are staying at the Marquette Hotel, that is in the IDS Center, so there will be no driving for us. Just a walk across the Crystal Court and back to our room. On New Years Day we will do some shopping downtown and have dinner at Fogo de Chao.
It's the first time in years that we've gone out for NYE. Many years ago NYE was always a special night and we hosted a number of parties and attended a number of others. Since my health deteriorated we haven't gone out on NYE but we figured we needed to get out and enjoy.

Thursday, it is. DD1 just arrived and is about to hit the hay (she was on call last night and did not sleep much). DD2 is milling about and DH is up and creeping the internet on his computer.
Holly (our new dog) is in her crate, being extremely good today. No wimpering and she slept from 11 last night until our other dog barked at 6 this morning. Boy, sounds like I just had another little baby!!
Not much else going on here. In the 40's today and off/on rain, drizzle and fog. We are to have warm temps (40's - 50's) thru New Year's Day and then, a return of the 30'2 for my birthday (Sunday).
Hope all are starting to feel better (Mike and Todd and Phyll) and have a good day!
Anothr late good morning to you! Cold and sunny here in CA. Didn't stop Keith from "playing" in his workshop, though!
Between bouts on the Kindle, I do laundry and will work in a trip to Pasadena to use a gift card at P.F. Chang's. We'll share "our" freeway with motor homes and trailers come to see the Rose Parade and football game. Keith ad I used to go on NYE to see all the over nighters camped out on Colorado Blvd. Now I just don't like all the traffic.
