Default January 1st, 2011 !!

Morning Mates, and welcome to a brand new year, let's hope it's a good one.
I'm hoping it brings me luck, since the #11 is my lucky number.

We had a very unexciting New Years Eve, watched the celebrations in Halifax on TV then went to sleep. Today, all over the province, each municipality is holding a "levee" which I am told is like an Open House of celebration.
Our local pub is also holding a levee, with live music, and since one of our friends will be performing, we will probably go for supper then listen to his band play for awhile.

The weather has turned mild again, snow is melting, and it is dull and gray once again. They're forecasting another storm by Sun. night or Monday.

Happy New Year to you all, and enjoy the first day of the year!

Hi Kids,
Warmer & sunny today, this wekend soo differenty then last..yay!

It's so wierd, with the number 11...if I never look at the clock all day long, when I do, it will be 11:11, or 1:11, this has happened for years...Bruce played the number 1111 for today..He also played for the Mega Millions which, was not won again..it's up to almost 300 million, and for sure it will top that on the day they draw the number. If you don't hear from me, I am on a plane to Lauderdale, and you can reach me at the real estate agents office

I am off to food shop..I want to make a white chilli, and we are out of everything imaginable !

Make it a good one,and a good year

Happy new year, friends!

No big plans for the day, except to finish packing for our cruise tomorrow! I'm not real excited about the itinerary, but booked because friends will be there, celebrating a birthday. For me, just put me on a ship, and I'm happy!

Trip, white chili sounds really good! I found a new recipe I think I'm going to try... Broccoli and Sausage Casserole. Also I'll have to have Black-eyed peas for good luck. For everyone else, what food will you have, to ensure a good year?

Darlene, this is funny...Just yesterday I had to rewrite a recipe I have not used in years..the ink was so faded, it would have been lost, and what was it ? Broccoli casserole....I think adding sausage would be great! Another thing to add to my list Have a wonderful cruise!

Good Morning CruiseMates! At 35 degrees, it's a bit nippy for me to have coffee on the patio (though the sun is shining today). We're headed to a high of only 50.

Ate so much last night I may just lay on the couch all day and groan.

It's the start of a new decade, so I should begin planning some stuff to fill it

Good morning and happy New Year
What a change in temperature from yesterdays 56 degrees to what I think is only in the mid 20ís for today! Iím very happy all the snow has melted and most of the salt has been washed away by the rain we had. We had a very nice night last night, dinner was very good as well as the company. I banged on my pots and panís when the New Year hit. I always enjoy watching NYís celebration the most. Iím adding Time Square on New Years to my ďBucket ListĒ a must due in my lifetime.

In the New Year, may your right hand always be stretched out in friendship, never in want.

RD,
You should book the TA on Carnival Magic. It will be a fun day at sea on November 11, 2011 OR 11/11/11. Then you should stay on for a B2B with us on the first sailing from Galveston.

Good morning everyone from a cool, sunny Texas. We will warm up a little later.

Last night we went to a wedding. It was two of the neighbor kids finally tying the knot. It was also my first Catholic wedding. The church was beautiful, and I loved the service.

The reception was 10 miles away, out in the country on a ranch. I didn't go because my back was killing me, but Jim and Josh went. In fact it was an all night thing, and Josh is still there. Jim came home around 10:00 last night, but I was so drugged, I went to bed shortly after.

Today I have to get things ready for Jim's trip. He will be gone for a month, and I want him to have everyting he needs for a good one.

I hope all of you have a good New Year.

Luanne

Enjoy your cruise!

We are already on vacation in sunny Florida, and Rosanna is very happy.
I can't think about food because I ate so much last night.

Happy New Year!

Trip, funny you should mention about the clock and the number 11, that's exactly what happens to me! Anytime, night or day I look at a clock or watch, it's always something eleven!
I once talked to a psychic about it, and she said, "go with it", there is some significance to that number for you. So, we booked our wedding on the 29th of Sept. 2+9=11. Ever since, whenever we've booked a cruise, for some weird reason, our cabin number has either had 11 in it, or added up to 11.
I'm waiting to see what happens in 2011!

And a Happy New Year's Day to all my fellow CruiseMates!

Jose and I are enjoying a lesiurely day of doing nothing - just enjoying spending the day together on our anniversary. That's right, we got married on January 1st. We thought it seemed right to start a new year with our new life together.

We don't have any special food tradition to bring us good luck for the new year. If we were in Costa Rica we'd be eating tamales wrapped in banana leaves, not corn husks like they do in Mexico and here in the southwest USA, but, instead, we're going out for a nice anniversary dinner to the Ruster's Rooste Steak House up on a peak on South Mountain. Good food with a great view, the two of us together - it can't get much better than that!
