Default Ted Williams, story of redemption

You must have seen:

The story of Ted Williams, the homeless man, with the golden voice, is just amazing..He has been all over the news, he has such good things coming hius way. He was overcome on the Today Show, and he has some help to get him through.

This story of redemption, is a nice way to start the new year.

Ted Williams comes from the East Flatbush section of Brooklyn ,NY . He is a well educated man who had a nice career in the radio injury but then began to use drugs and stole money to pay for his drugs .He was married and has 5 children plus several grandchildren. Everyone is hoping that he does not return to the streets .

The story of Ted Williams is a heart warming story! G-d has given this man a second chance. Isn't it wonderful to hear good news in the media!

What an inspirational story it is. Kudos to those providing him with a job. If he stays sober he could be the perfect example of one who has gone from the top to the bottom and back up again.

God does weave miracles.

Absolutely heartwarming!

As noted above, what a GREAT story to start the new year. I certainly hope Mr. Williams stays straight and sober. He says he's been that way for two years now, and if that's true it should be easier for him to stay that way. WOW, what a great set of pipes he has. I've been told I have a "radio announcers voice", but it's nothing near Teds! God bless him!

I'm putting on my "fireproof" outfit while I post this !

IMHO, this "news" story is a bunch of BS! I think it's a "made for TV" feel good story and will not turn out well. Why in the world would someone record a video of a "street guy", out of nowhere, then go on to follow his "story" on national news?

Again, JMHO, so please, no flames !

If I were a reporter, and happened to hear this guys voice, I'd certainly return with a camera crew and do a story on him. I don't think it's that unusual at all.

The photo journalist who broke the story said there are thousands of homeless people on the streets who have similiar stories .

what most Americans don't realize (or chose to ignore) is that due to the high job loss and long periods of trying to find work, compounded with no health coverage (COBRA is prohibitly expensive), there are lots of homeless people that just a few months ago were working, paying for their homes etc....most Americans are just about 2-3 paychecks away from being homeless if they lost their job/health coverage

in Mr William's case, different story, negative press is starting to surface now about him..but hey, drugs will do that to you, but it should not distract from what is happening now..the question becomes if he can get back on his feet, how is he going to stay that way

Venice, you are so right. Hopefully, Ted Williams will realize how lucky he was to get a "second chance" and let's hope that he will use his "G-d given" talent not only to help himself but to inspire other people who are downtrodden to know that there is always "hope" of a brighter future.

First of all I have to amend my post from abpve ,he has 9 children. One ex-wife-5 children and 4 with an ex-gf.

Secondly there is thought that he may be overwhelmed by all the attention and revert back to alcohol or drugs .
