I like that one Henry....We actually got some more yesterday, just a few inches and just enough to cause traffic delays during the day. Today, however is still cold, but the sun is out and melting snow...
Last night my wife had a group of friends here .I assured them it would not snow and of course I was wrong .They left earlier than they planned and still had great difficulty getting home .We have at least 6 ,possibly 8 inches here ,however ,the streets are being cleaned .
snow on the ground (yes that includes Hawaii)..the only state that does not have snow is Florida..why is that
Because I am on vacation here in Palm Coast Fl. and I don't like snow.

Actually that is not true. On the news last night they reported one Florida resident has a snow maker and showed it blowing snow into his yard.

I heard a rumor it's this cold white stuff that falls on the ground. We have some up in the hills near Truckee CA and Lake Tahoe. But we only allow it there so we can ski nearby. Last time we had snow where I live was January 28, 2002 it was gone pretty quickly I think we got about an inch. Here are the other times we had snow February 27, 1996 with a trace recorded. The Last measurable snow was two inches on February 5, 1976. The most snow ever recorded was four inches on January 4-5, 1888. We get pretty happy when it snows here. my freshman year in college in upstate new york, it snowed 104 inches in 3 days..the only good thing was i was snowed in the girls dorm (those were the days when the dorms where separated by male/female)
the only time i like seeing snow is on tv when i call my brothers (in ohio and maine) and laugh at them..it snowed in new orleans on Christmas day 2004 which should have been a precursor to what was to come the next summer
Great because I hope to visit your wonderful area sometime between March and May .
Our 3 favorite places are Mystic ,Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods .

Back in the days when "snail mail" was all that there was, a codger who had retired to Florida taunted a buddy in Maine by sending a photo depicting him sitting on his lawn tractor, in shirt sleeves, in gorgeous sunny day, on which he had written: "Taken January 1st."
