Morning Mates, welcome to Wednesday and the Wonderful World of Snow!
Our "appetizer" storm last night didn't amount to much, there's barely an inch out there this morning, but we're expecting the Big One around 1 pm today.
All schools in the region are closed, much to my relief, because I do not want to have to drive home in another storm!
It looks like there may be another day off tomorrow, if it is as bad as they predict...
So, I have finished my jigsaw puzzle, and once I get that glued, I will start on a new paint-by-number to keep me busy. If I tire of that, I have a whole bag of books from the library to keep me occupied.
I just have to pray we don't lose power....
Hi Kids.
It is calm outside..no wind, snow is blowing, but, that means its light...sleet/freezing rain is on it's way...If I squint really hard, the pine trees, outside my window, become palm trees, and my bathrobe turns into a beach coverup. Remember that oldies song...They're coming to take me away... aha! That's how I feel!
!
Make it a good one .

Good Morning Cruisemates!
I have nothing at all planned today. I may wait until later today and head down to the drugstore. Then again I may not. Who's to say that it will even be open if I did head down there.
We're in pretty good shape and we're pretty well out of the storms path now. Tonight the temps should get below zero, but things should start to improve dramatically tomorrow.
I was so sad to see a little robin huddled under my truck this morning trying to stay warm. I threw some bird seed out to him and hope all the little snowbirds don't swipe it from him.
Well since our poor kids don't get snow days, I better get out there and get them to do something productive.
Good morning from a very cold Texas, where it's a balmy 16 degrees. We lost power this morning, but it back on , and now I have all this stuff flashing 12:00.
Not much planned today, but I do hope and pray that all of you stay safe.
I am feeling sorry for you guys who are getting the ice storm. We had a bad one of those about 4 yrs ago and many in this area where without power for up to 2 wks. We were lucky only out for 5 days. We had a sleety rain last night but it passed through pretty quick. Today the temps have dropped and the wind is howling. There are even a few snow flurries flying around but it is not suppose to accumulate.
I did all my running yesterday and have lots of office work to catch up on today so that is my plan. Stay in and warm!
Trip, I am doing the same thing as you in dreaming about the tropics. A year ago last week we were sailing the Western Caribbean and oh it was soooooo warm. On Friday I called our good friends that went with us and reminded them of what we were doing a year ago....on the beach in Roatan, soaking up the sun with great umbrella drinks in hand. Thank goodness for the great memories.
Todd, If and when you head to Cleveland let me know and maybe I could meet up with you somewhere along the Ohio way. Would love to meet you and give you a big hug. You take care.
Everyone have a safe day and stay warm if at all possible.
So far, they are saying 17 inches and still comming down, got another 6-7 hours....Don't know how to even start to dig out....going to be some kind of day around here.
we got about 8" of snow, it stopped for awhile overnight so at least the snowplow drivers got a little rest, it is sleeting like crazy now, and may turn back to more snow, and another storm headed our way for Saturday. Beach Boys song in my head -- "Bermuda, Bahama....."
We had snow during the night and now it's freezing rain. It sure will be wonderful when get to see palm trees again. I hope that everyone is safe and warm.

Good Morning cruisemates! Good thing the weather here in Scottsdale isn't absolutely gorgeous today. I'd feel bad checking in with that to all those suffering the latest blast of winter
There's a cool wind blowing, and an expected high of 50. The storm system is so large, this is actually part of the same storm affecting the midwest and northeast.
I get to run out later today to pick up my new specs, and that is the only thing on my list. Heck I may have to wash the floors just to have a task

Rollerdonna, I thought of you last night while doing my grocery shopping at Metro. They were playing the "Hustle" on the stereo system. I found myself subconsciously swaying and moving out my feet as I walked, almost as if I were rollerskating. When I realized what I was doing, that brought back some good memories of rollerskating in grade school (guess I'm a bit younger than you!) and then I though of you and the picture I saw here of you, likely taken in the 70s?

You are right, it was taken in the mid-seventies on my 21st birthday actually.
I still have the urge to move (skate) whenever I hear one of those disco-era songs!
Good morning Well we have run out of places to put the snow and we still have 1/2 a driveway left. D/H stayed home today due to the 5ft snow drifts in front of the garage door. Oh well its winter and we have been pretty lucky thus far. Well time to go row with the rest of the slaves, hope to see ya soon!!

We had mostly a sleet-y - snow overnight. Older dog did not sleep well - she does not like sounds that are different or new to her and the sleet was pinging off the bedroom window for hours!! DD's saw about a foot of snow in Michigan and both have snow days!!
Still snowing here but the wind is the problem, blowing anything it can into drifts. The temperatures are dropping like rocks, too. Can hardly wait to take out the dogs in 0 degrees F temps tonight! With wind!
Hope all are safe, warm and dry and have a good day!
Good morning. It's a chilly sunny day here. Fortunately, we seem to be in a wind protected area and won't get the 40-6-mph winds that are predicted for today and tomorrow. It's definitely sweater or jacket weather for the next few days.
I plan to finish off the laundry that I should have done yesterday and then see if Keith wants to go to our local Japanese restaurant or the seafood place in Orange, CA.

Yep! That's the one! I still have my old rollerskates ... not sure why ... I could not jam my foot into them if I tried!

Just finished shoveling, waiting on a few more passes from the plow, so far one car got down the street and its almost noon, at the moment, just a one lane road....Good thing, sun is out already melting the drive, took 2 hours and may-be a little bit left to do after the plows get all the way through....Then the temps will get to single digit, don't want to be out there shoveling in that.
Good afternoon from where it is in the mid sixties in Virginia Beach! I'm not holding my breath that this uncaracteristically warm weather stays. It is a nice diversion from 'ol man winter. The more I experience the cold weather the more I am thinking of booking a cruise out of Baltimore to the caribbean. Rollerdonna, I loved seeing your picture! Ah back to the seventies; it seems like ages ago.
