"Phil" the groundhog did not see his shadow, so that means spring is on its way! YIPEE

Here on Long Island, we have a groundhog named "Malverne Mel", named for the town in which he resides, Malverne. Groundhog Day in Malverne has been cancelled. It was in the news on TV as well as the newspaper that it was cancelled due to the weather. Now what?

Not around these parts. Schubenechadie Sam would not dare exit his burrow today, he would literally have to be dug out!
I think spring will be a long way off around here...
