Morning Mates, our regional school board has cancelled classes for the 2nd straight day. It has cleared, the sun is shining, it's only -5, and it is a beautiful day, but there is a LOT of cleaning up to do. Depending on where you are in Nova Scotia, there is anywhere between 25 and 45 cms of new snow, so all the plows, tractors and shovellers will be out there today.
As for me, I am going to enjoy another day off, get out there and take some pictures, and maybe try some snowshoeing!
Last night we didn't go out for our Wednesday Trivia night. The Trivia guy couldn't get into town so he cancelled, then the bar itself closed down because of the storm. Home was the only logical place to be last night.
Well, I hope everyone survived the storm with no damage to property or selves. Let me know how you fared....
Good Morning CruiseMates,
We are now on snow day #3 here.... We pride ourselves on getting an early start lol. The road is still not plowed, I just spoke to a friend of mine who found out her road probably isn't gonna get plowed because the plow is on its side in a ditch on her road.
There isn't much else happening today really. D/H is working from home. All the schools, including the University remain closed today. People are really having a rough time with this ice pack, because only the plows can move it. 4wheelers with blades can't move the stuff and if you try to chisel at it with a snow blower it feels like your face is getting sandblasted with bb's. I may try to venture out later today. We'll see if our unplowed lane is passable. It's days like this I wish I had invested in a blade for my truck.
Hope you all are safe and warm and the cabin fever has not yet reached fever pitch. Hang in there!
Good morning from the Winter Wonderland of Minnesota.
It is a standard January day here. 7 with a high of 21. The best part is that it will be a sunny day.
Nothing major on the agenda for today. After the last month of tests, procedures and doctor's appointments things turned out the same as they have before. The top of their field doctors came back with the: "There really isn't anything we can do for you that isn't worse than the disease" diagnosis. Oh well, I've lived with it for this long I'm just going to continue to do so.
I hope everyone weathered the storm without any major incident and that all the Cruisemates are safe, sound and warm.
I also hope everyone has a great Thursday.
Take care,
Mike

Good morning to all the cruisemates, it is cold here..21 degrees. It should get up to the high 30s today. A chance of freezing rain tonight and tomorrow morning. At least the sun is shinning at the moment.
Nothing but the usual going on around here today.
Hope all of you in the east and midwest thaw out some today.
Hi Kids,
The sun is weak, but, it's there..for how long who knows. Saturday, my only work day maybe in peril Watching what Chicago has gone through, brings back memories of our historical Blizzard of 78.
Today and tomorrow, I have the kids, because Nikki had to rearrange her days.
I hope everyone is dug out soon..Make it a good one.

good morning all, all is good here in central mass, sun is out, its strong so there will be some melting going on, we got about 8" of snow and about 2" of ice, running out of places to put all this snow. DS went up on the roof yesterday to clear the snow off the peak of the house, and to clear the satellite.
Good Morning cruisemates! Guess what! Yesterday was the coldest day EVER in Feb. in Pheonix, and I got to be here for it High for the day was 44, but the windchill made it 2 degrees.
They cancelled yesterday's Pro Am, for the Phoenix Open golf tournament because of the weather, and the start of the tournament today is in jeaprody.
I went to pick up my new eyeglasses yesterday, and while I was in the store a couple walked in. They looked at me as I was leaving, and the woman said... you should put on some socks and shoes! I told here I was Canadian, and we wear flip flops year round
My assignment today, should I choose to accept it or not, is to do laundry and wash the floors!
Well we have no snow but 100 mph winds with rain are forecast. In fact the wind is picking up 'nicely'.
Well I have 'turned the corner' with my RTA minor injuries - sore and a bit stiff - but that's all - it could have been a lot worse. I knew before I went to bed last night, that I had turned the corner.
I could have not been in that much pain as I booked a short cruise yesterday as consolation for my last 2 forced holiday cancellations - now flights - at least I have Airmiles for them.
Like Luanne, I have been using a Wii but no diet! I was frustrated and puzzled that my weight stayed the same but my clothes were becoming too big for me. At last the scales have caught up - not nearly as good as Luanne - but at least I am moving in the right direction.
