And now you see exactly why I argued!
The question asked was exactly as I put it: "To what family does a Clown Sweetlips belong?"
The answer on the Trivial Pursuit card was -----
And that is what a few people put and got credit for.
But since the category was science, I thought a scientific answer was required. And I knew very well that "FISH" is not a family.
King Peter Came Over From Germany Singing Songs.
Kingdom, Phylum, Class, Order, Family, Genus, Species, subspecies.
I have since looked up the taxonomy of a clown sweetlips and it is as follows:
CLASS PISCES -- FISH
Order Perciformes -- the perch
FAMILY Haemulodae -- the GRUNTS
Genus and species Plectorhinchus chaetodonoides (or sp.)
At the time I did not know this so I guessed that the family was the Trout family, which was admittedly wrong. It certainly is a fish, but FISH is sooooo wrong and not even within the range of possible answers to the question "What family?"
We all know how far I got with going to the Ship's Naturalist and, even when she agreed with me, asking her to straighten out the Cruise Staff, don't we??
For all I know they are still asking that question and still accepting the WRONG answer "FISH"! Sorry, Mike and John.
