Default Do you hoard coins ?

The only places that I get the $1 coin in change are at the post office stamp machine or a subway machine .

I've only gotten one of the new pennies in change since they were put in circulation .

We hoard coins. It pays for a significant amount of our vacation. In Canada we have a $1 and a $2 coin. With two of us in the house it adds up pretty quick. Last year coin paid for our 3 nights on the French Riviera.

I have all the state quarters (uncirculated) and I also have some silver dollars as well as a bunch of old nickel and dimes and some foreign coins.

I remember a time when we would put together our coins to pay for gas to get Jim to work before payday.

These days coins get in my way. They seem to be everywhere. We do have a small collection of old coins, that was given to my son, for the future, but I try to collect our coins and take them to the bank.

I collect 1 and 2 coins in a special jar which I use as spending money on vacations.

I also keep my leftover American and Euro currency.

The reason the dollar coins have not gone over with the public is that unlike Canada and UK Congress never has had the courage to withdraw the paper money. Although the dollar coins are about 3 times as much to produce, they last about 30 years as compared to 3 years for paper currency. Do the math. As far as retooling cash registers just count the coin areas including the one that holds rolled coins and rubber bands. There is more than enough.
