Default Ash Wednesday

Good morning all!!

Someone's day got off to a bad start when she got hauled off the train by the police in cuffs. Luckily it was my stop so we weren't delayed and made our connection.

Today I have a major conference call to attempt to straighten things out on a grant with one of my major cities. The government financial crisis is causing problems becuase the grant program in question requires a minimum level contribution by the local government that cannot be reduced except under very limited circumstances. It is written into statute and cannot be waived unless the law is amended. Lucky me.

Everyone have a great day!!

Morning Doug and all Mates to follow. Barbados is looking real good to me about now, as I'm sure it is to most of you in northern climates!
We're back to -5C again today, but the good news is, the sun is out, so maybe some more melting will happen.

The best part of this Hump Day is that I have another day off! Report cards came out yesterday, so today is no school due to parent-teacher meetings.
My hubby and I are doing our every-four-month trek to the Hyundai dealer for maintenance, a 2 hour drive. We're bringing Miss Emma with us, because the dealer has a resident Golden Retriever who loves it when Emma visits.

Tonight is Trivia night. We're going to use our previous prizes, 2 $10 gift cards at the pub and treat ourselves to dinner before the Trivia!

Good Day Doug, Donna and all who follow.

Doug - that is one interesting station you use - is that the 2nd week in a row that police have been in attendance?

Quiet day again - the new sofas arrived yesterday without any fuss.

Keep well everybody.

Different station, this one is where I change trains in suburban New Jersey on the way to Philadelphia. Usually the biggest action there is the mad rush to change trains. The fight was in the station in Philadelphia between two homeless women fighting over a man.

Good morning everyone from a cool, but sunny Texas.

I have a stuffy nose, so sleep was hard to come by last night. Everything is blooming here, so lots of polen in the air.

Weight loss continues. I have now lost 24 lbs without feeling hungry, so I call that sucess.

Jim is doing pre-deployment stuff. Yesterday he had to take care of business in the same building where the shooting accured. He says security was very tight. Part of the room is still blocked with barbed wire, because it is still a crime scene. Most of what he has to do to get ready seems normal to me now, but the part where he has to get dental profile is still a jolt. That is incase they have to use dental to identify him.

Not much else going on. I just try to keep going...

Everyone have a good day.

Luanne

Anyone know where you can buy an Ark? Looks like we may need one around here....rain, rain, & more rain. Luckily I live on a hill so the high water has a long way to go before it would get me but I still keep my eyes on the river. Lots of standing water in our backyard, I've got the pool I always wanted!
It's been a busy week for me. Took Mom for the results from her tests on the tumor in her lung. Unfortunately they were inconclusive so she goes back to the hospital next Tues. for a needle biopsy. This one is more dangerous as they go through the chest, into the lung and then using the needle take a biopsy. We really like this lung Dr. He was very good to explain everything, step by step for us. Mom doesn't hear well so my sister and I are her ears most of the time. Mom told us that if it comes back as cancer she has no intention of doing chemo. She said at her age it would be worse than the tumor. If radiation is an option, she said she would do that. All we can do now is wait and pray.

RD have a safe trip

Doug, maybe you need to become a referee for all the fights you been seeing. I love the pic and so wish that is where I was right now.

LuAnne, congrats on the weight loss. Oh how I need to get at that myself.

Everyone have a good day and stay dry.

Sue- There was no fight, she got off train walked up to the waiting officers and was cuffed without incident. May have been a pre-arranged surrender.

Good morning
We had a rainy night last night and a little drizzle as of right now but temps in the high 40's.

Luanne… congratulations, you should be proud of yourself. Keep it up! I’m down ten as of yesterday.

Good morning Mates

We are having a sunny day, but with three inches of rain predicted for tomorrow night and friday, we too will need an Ark.

A least we are getting closer to our next cruise.

Have a nice day everyone.

Morning Mates. It finally stopped raining but is still cloudy. The boys (puppies) did pretty well last night. They have become escape artists as they can get out of their contained area now. I think the OH may owe me a steam cleaning when this is done. They can now lap their milk out of a bowl and off the floor, which is where most of it goes since they don't have enough sense to not step in it and knock it over.

Puppy watching, taking care of dad, and housework are on the agenda for today.

For those who feel they need an ark, I am there too. I'd like ot go a week without rain.

I love that pic. I'd love to be sitting on Dover Beach right now.

Have a good day all.

Default Ash Wednesday

A late good morning to you. I stayed up into the wee hours finishing the third book of the Steig Larsson trilogy. The day is sunny and promises to be quite warm.

Doug, that's a beautiful picture. I'm about to experience a day in the 80's and I still wish I were in Barbados!

Luanne, congratgulations!

My visit to the dermatologist went well yesterday. I had two more skin specimens go to the lab and must report back in a month.

Gym day for Keith and a whatever kinda day for me. Since it's going to be so warm, I'm hoping for lunch where we can eat outdoors.

Judy

Moraine, you have mentioned OH several times. Pardon my ignorance, but what does that stand for? All I can up with is "Original Howner"!

Betty refers to me as the OH. Obnoxious Husband.

Take care,
