Default Sunday Sunsation

Hi Kids,
A day on the warmer side is such a good thing! My son came over with a chain saw yesterday and got rid of the big limbs in the front yard, a lot of work left to do, but a beginning, from greatful parents.

On the news just now, I saw new video of the tsunami, just released, and, it's even more devestating to watch, because this is from people in the midst of it, so a different perspective, and unimagineable

Not going far today..corned beef and cabbage for dinner....this is Nikki's fave meal, so we will invite them over.

Make it a good one.

Good Morning CruiseMates!
We're getting ready to move out like a herd of turtles. I can wait to get down south, roll the windows down on the car and get a reprieve from Daylight Savings time until Saturday anyway. The bags are packed and we're just waiting on d/h. I have no idea what he's doing right now, but I figure if we all go sit in the car, he will eventually come looking for us and then we'll leave for Alabama lol.

I hope you all have a great week! Take care!

I've never tried corned beef and cabbage! Got room for one more???

Is it sunny where you are? Still overcast here.

ITs a day of laundry and tidying up the house here. Also catching up on some work. Gotta get the taxes over to the accountant before we leave for our trip.

Never had corn beef and cabbage Oh, you poor dear! I'm planning on having it on St. Pats Day but don't know if I can wait that long. Try it-you'll like it!

Good morning everyone from an overcast Texas. It is still warm, and everything is in bloom.

I have moved my desk to the big window, so I am able to sit here, and look out over the back yard. I love the trees this time of year, because of their big white blooms.

Trudy, Have a great trip. Watch out for the open windows. You might in up with a head, and nose full of pollen.

Trip, I love corn beef and cabbage, although I have never made it.

Not much planned today, except church. Will probably make this a day of rest.

I hope all of you have a good day.

Luanne

Good Morning cruisemates! I'm back on my patio perch in Arizona, and it's a GORGEOUS morning. Heading to the mid 80s for a high.

It was so nice to come back here after our cruise, rather than heading further north and homeward.

I had a very hard time saying goodbye to some of our cruisemates yesterday; just hoping god allows them to cruise with me yet again sometime.

On the upside, while we were cruising a grand niece was born, and we're going to go over and see her and her tired mom and dad today.

Default Sunday Afternoon

It's a bight sunny morning here in SoCal, too. Keith changed over most of the clocks. I have to wait for my cell phone to charge. Our cell phones (and computer, too, I guess) are set by Greenich and the most accurate, I am told. Then there's the car clock . . . takes a genius to reset. That leaves me out . . .

I've never had corned beef and cabbage, either . . .

Well, another Let's Get Lei'd cruise has ended. Most people should be home by now. Keith and I look forward to lunch with Frank and his wife still visiting family here in CA. We'll see them on Tuesday.

Time for some coffee and the paper. Have a nice Sunday.

Judy

Good morning all.

I read on the net this morning that the dead in Japan may reach 10,000. It's just overwhelming.

It's cloudy with a chance of rain here. The sun was nice while it lasted. Put my dad in his wheelchair yesterday and took him for a ride through the neighborhood so he could see the early stuff in bloom.

I think I'll take a day off from the housework. Got quite a bit of paperwork to do. I am going to make meatloaf today. The OH is going to make a pot of chili. Won't have to cook for a few days. Yay!

The puppies are in the garage now. They have the bottom half of their mom's dog house stuffed with pillows, which they are enjoying. The tick control was spread on the backyard yesterday. Hope it actually does rain so it will soak in. The puppies can go back there in a few days. They are becoming very spoiled. The OH and teen seem to be determined ot hang on to them as long as possible.

I hope those travelling have a save trip and a good time.

So is it corned beef, as in "out of a can" or as in a full brisket?

We eat a lot of Montreal smoked meat here, but I've never tried to make it. Just easier to bring it home from the deli!

I grew up hating the stuff out of the can .... but grew to love corned beef hash after eating it on my first cruise. In fact, its the first breakfast item I order on every cruise.

No, not out of the can. It is brisket and you have to cook it.

I'll be making corned beef brisket and cabbage on Wednesday. I use the slow cooker and add fingerling potatoes.

It's always on sale here around St. Patty's Day. The $7.00 CB will feed us two or three nights and make several sandwiches.

(If you have ummm, "stomach problems", I'd suggest you not make the cabbage-just saying... .)

Or not to go out in public and stay away from enclosed areas, especially elevators, for at least three days. Stay in the house. Both you, and your house, will smell the same.

Take care,
Mike (Who loves corned beef and cabbage)

Good evening from where it was in the mid-seventies, in Virginia Beach. I had to go to work this afternoon and just got home. Rob was on the family room couch suffering from a sore back. I guess, that as we age, we suffer from more aches and pains. Hopefully, something can be done to help Rob's back. Hope that all my fellow cruisemates had a great day!
