Easter is just a few weeks away. Have you taken down your Christmas lights yet?

A good question, RT, because a lot of people in SoCal leave 'em up all year. It looks awful.

I guess after the holidays you could get away with calling them "party lights".

We take ours down the day after just in case we get hit with a snow storm.

The twelve days of Christmas end with the Feast of Epiphany also called "The Adoration of the Magi" or "The Manifestation of God." Celebrated on January 6, it is known as the day of the Three Kings (or wise men/magi): Caspar, Melchior and Balthasar. According to an old legend based on a Bible story, these three kings saw, on the night when Christ was born, a bright star, followed it to Bethlehem and found there the Christchild and presented it with gold, frankincense and myrrh.

The Christmas season is not over for us until the Three Kinks Day. That is the way we celebrated in the little town where I was born and I still follow the same tradition.

Sadly for many people today the only thing that counts is opening the presents.

All of our outdoor decorations were buried under so much snow that no-one would ever know they are still up. However, after coming back from our holiday March Break, we were surprised to see all the snow gone, so now I guess I have to take down the Christmas decorations!

We keep our tree up until 3 kings day but the outside stuff goes away the day after.

Seriously, we stop lighting the decorations on Three Kings Day, however due to a mixture of bad weather and sloth we didn't get them down until the end of February.

There are people who are still lighting theirs. I believe they are candidates for the funny farm.
