Default Service

Is it true that the higher your cabin is graded the better service you will get from the staff ?

Example a person with a balcony will get better service than a person with an OV .

never noticed any better or less service regardless of inside/oceanview or balconies. Now "suites" on some cruiselines is a whole different topic regarding service i.e. "butler", "concierge", etc.....

Thought you were headed for your Hawaii cruise ? Have a great time and report back with a review of your cruise when you return.

Safe Travels.

As some of you know on my recent cruise in a sky suite on Celebrity Constellation my so called butler was useless and a total waste of time.

I've emailed the ozzy arm of customer services at rccl 4 times in the last 4 months with no reply what so ever. (except for one auto reply from their server)

Sometimes service sucks no matter what type of cabin you have.

In all my cruises, we never had bad service. It been mostly excellent and a couple of times I would say good.

I don't think that it's the location of the cabin but just the luck of the draw.
On our last cruise ( on the Allure ), our cabin attendant was A+, she was the best we have ever had. Now on there is no way that all the other attendants on that ship could be as good.

The only difference I've seen is in the boarding process, when you can get Priority Boarding after a certain number of cruises or if you're in a Suite.

We had a Butler and Concierge once and all they did was make me uncomfortable !

We have had Steward's who were wonderful and some who were just so-so, but I don't think it had anything to do with where we were on the ship.

fun2cruise, I think you're confusing Henry with Dhill . Dhill and his wife left yesterday for their Hawaii cruise.

Henry, from phrases.org :

"Meaning
My mistake - I'm to blame.
Origin

This slang term originated in about 1970. At that time, i.e. pre the widespread use of the Internet, slang terms often circulated at street level for many years before being adopted by anyone who felt inclined to write them down. That's clearly not the case any longer of course and any word or phrase that is widely known is dateable quite precisely via website logs.
The first citation in print is C. Wielgus and A. Wolff's, 'Back-in-your-face Guide to Pick-up Basketball', 1986:
"My bad, an expression of contrition uttered after making a bad pass or missing an opponent."
Shakespeare used the term with something like the current meaning, in his Sonnet 112:
Your love and pity doth the impression fill
Which vulgar scandal stamp'd upon my brow;
For what care I who calls me well or ill,
So you o'er-green my bad, my good allow?
That's clearly just coincidence, and it's hardly surprising that such a fragmentary phrase would appear in a large body of work like Shakespeare's. It's also a world away from pick-up basketball, which is an informal street sport where players frequently call out to each other (trash talking), and is a well-known source of street slang.
'My bad' came into widespread popular use in the mid to late-1990s in the USA via the 1995 movie “Clueless”. This starred Alicia Silverstone and contains what seems to have been the first use of the phrase in the mainstream media. The 1994 'Green revision pages' for the movie script has a scene with Alicia Silverstone's character learning to drive:
"Cher swerves - to avoid killing a person on a bicycle. Cher: Whoops, my bad."
Although a street term, it is virtually synonymous with the earlier Latin phrase, 'mea culpa'. It doubtless has as little of a direct descent from this as it does from Shakespeare's Sonnet 112."

Henry, "my bad" is one of pet peeves. I hate hearing it in conversation. But, I will admit, there has been a time or two, when use of "my bad" just seemed the appropriate response. I kind of see it as the equivalent of "I goofed"

The only time I've noticed "better" service was a couple of times when I've had a butler but there was one time my butler was worthless.

Overall: No, there is no difference in service.

Take care,
Mike

Perhaps as a generality it could be true. Many have gone to 'teams' so one single person doesn't have as much impact as in the past.

But then again i'm a big believer in the higher the better theory.
