Lakeland Florida and Area
Just heard about the terrible weather there. Please check in with us, especially if you were attending the airshow.
Will be praying for all of you.

The airshow tried to go on, but a potential twister came through, ripped tents all over the place. Then moved as many people as possible into a cement building. If I knew someone wanted more info, I would have paid closer attention to all the details. Anyway, the show is off.

P.S. All central Florida has been hit with these weird storms for 3 days, horrendous pounding rain and some winds of 50 to 70 MPH! Mini hurricanes happening. Tonight they are to be gone, and great weather by Saturday. We in several counties are under tornado watch till 8 tonight. OMG you should hear the thunder roll as I post.

Here in North Lakeland we got a bit of wind, and a LOT of rain, but thank heaven, no property damage. The Fly In is on the South side of Lakeland, and they did, indeed get quite a lot more rain and wind than we did here, just 10 miles or so North. Thanks for the concern, and be assured that the lovely Mrs. Jones, (Vita) and I are doing O.K.

It's been a rocky day for all of central Florida......from one side to the other.
Here on the left central coast we have had over 3" of rain and it's still coming down.......having a HUGE thunderstorm right now.
Hubby was going to Sun 'n Fun fly in tomorrow, but couldn't find anyone to go with him.
Thanks for the concern those of us in Florida.

I live about 30 miles south of Tampa Airport ... we've had very heavy rain (last I checked my rain gauge was over 2-1/2" and I had to drain my pool alot). But - there were tornadoes all over the area ... Largo in Pinellas County, the Sun 'n Fun area (Lakeland in Hillsborough County) where they had a lot of tents blown over and about 7 people taken to the hospital plus lots of planes sent topsy turvy ... nevertheless they are planning on going ahead with the Sun n' Fun tomorrow - that's when small planes come in from all over the U.S. each year.
Most unusual weather what with all the tornadoes and I'm sure we're breaking the amount of rain falling. Finally I don't hear the thunder so guess it's well on its way to the east coast.

On the up side we really did need the rain and now maybe all that pollen that's been dogging all those with allergies will subside a bit. It was unusual in that the rain just wouldn't quit today here in Orlando.

Laura, cruznut2 was at work all day today. because of the weather they had to keep the clients at their respective houses, so she was busy but safe. she worked 3 hours over as the next person did not show up so she was tired and on her site said she was going to be dearly since she has to work again tomorrow.

Didn't blow away here in Orlando, but I felt like it a few times.
And read about what happened out at Port Canaveral.

We had damage to 70, (Yep SEVENTY) aircraft here at Sun-n-Fun, but no serious injuries. Apparently, someone reported that a hanger collapsed, with lots of people inside, but that was bogus! The Fly-In is going full force today, with the airshows scheduled for this afternoon, then the BIG one at dusk, with the Blue Angles. Thanks for all the concern from our Mates,,,,as far as I know we're all O.K.
