We are here in Cherbourg, France. This is our last stop prior to debarkation in Southanpton tomorrow. The cruise was very nice and the Eclipse is a beautiful ship. Last night was dinner at the Tuscan Grill and we were quite inpressed by the quality of food and service. The regular dining room and buffets have been very mixed and somewhat mercurial. Oh well at least we did not have to cook or do dishes... BONUS. Our weather has been excellent for the entire crossing, all be it a little bit nippy today.
The highlight for both of us wqs Lisbon, Portugal. It is a lovely city and we ended our visit there with an amazing lunch, a bottle of excellent local wine and the music of two excellent Fado singers, one of which was a close friend of our favorite Fado singer, Mariza. They were accompanied by two gifted musicians playing the guitara portuguesas with great skill. This was a yummy afternoon to say the least.
We will be taking lunch and a bottle of wine from a charcuterie in just a few minutes. Cherbourg, France is soooooo beautiful and there are oh so many choices for places to lunch. What a very difficult decision... Hmmmmm???
Bye for now... More to report in a few days afrze the royal wedding barbecue.
Hi there, glad to hear you have had such a good time on board - if you could leave all your luggage on board it'll help us tomorrow as we haven't even started packing yet !! Oh weill it's only a 4-nighter, so hopefully it won't take long to pack.
Talking of packing, how formal are the formal & semi-formal/country causal nights both for men & women. It's our first time on Celebrity and are not sure what to expect.
Hope you have a lovely sailaway tonight, the French will often come down to the dockside in Cherbourg to wave you off with many more on the water in the yachts - especially if the ship isn't a 'normal visitor'.
All the best,
Alan & Katrina
Last Cruise: P&O Britannia March 2015

So excited to hear that you loved Lisbon. My husband has a week of meetings there the end of June, and I just booked my flight to go with him this morning! Please let me know what things I should plan on doing while there. I will have all day to myself for 5 days, and I know our hotel is on one of the beaches, so I'm sure I will have no problem occupying myself...especially with NO KIDS!!!!
