Thinking of Oasis - what do I need to know?

I'm thinking of booking on Oasis later this summer.

What do I need to know? I heard somewhere that you need to pre-book your shows? Is that true? Is the MDR any good? WE're not ones for spending a lot of money on board. Is is possible to enjoy Oasis without spending extra?

I'm waiting for pricing on their Kung Fu Panda package. That's the real incentive for booking Oasis right now, otherwise I had planned to wait a few more years.

Do I just book it and board like any other ship, or do I need to plan it out in advance?

Not an expert, but googled Panda package and it said June 4 on Oasis. I assume this means a 1 time thing?

I have cruised on the Oasis and her sister-ship the Allure, and have booked Oasis for another cruise.

I loved both of those cruises. Yes you can have a lot of fun without spendind extra money. There are many activities and plenty of entertainment venues all over the ship.
You should book the shows which is easy to do on the RCL website. There is no charge for any of the shows or the Zip-Line, rock climbing or surfing.

You embark like any other ship. They are very efficient and embarkation is smooth and take no longer than on the tiny ships.

We ate all our meals in the MDR and had noproblems with the food. And there is plenty of food all over the ship.

My advice is to book it and enjoy your cruise.

Thanks Manuel! So you can book the shows on-line? I guess once you have the reservation, you would book shows just like you would pre-book a spa appointment?

Ruth- The Panda Package needs to be booked by the end of this month, for sailings in June, July, and August. i'm not entirely sure what you get in this package that isn't ordinarlily offered to regular guests. There are a few obvious things like an 8x10 photo, 2 cupcakes, and the fountain soda package, BUT the Panda PAckages also offers the opportunity to see Kung Fu Panda 2 in 3-D on ths ship, plus character breakfasts, photo ops, meet&greets and more with Po, Shrek, and others. I'm wondering if everyone gets to do the character breakfasts or if it is just those that book the Package.

My kids are huge Kung Fu Panda fans.

It's way too much based on availability.

The cheapest I can get the kids's on (3rd/4th pax) is over $1,000. I'd be better off going to disney.

I've got him looking into FOTS now, as the same package is offered there.

I'm still waiting for some numbers. i did the first request through Royal (the guy whose email was listed on their WOW email). I didn't find him overly helpful; so I reached out to my usual agent thinking he might go the extra mile to get me a good price.

HE just got back from holidays but emailed me to say he was working on it.
