Morning Mates, from a finally fabulous weather day in Pictou County.
Yesterday was gorgeous and today looks like more of the same, sunshine, warmer temps and it feels oh, so good to be outdoors!
Here's a pic of me working hard yesterday (or is that hardly working?)
I'm off to a more difficult day of work this morning, subbing for another teacher at a daycare all morning, then my usual job all afternoon.
The best part is, I can wear capris and sandals!
Have a good one!
Well, so much for Holly's having surgery yesterday! The office called early and the vet doing the surgery was ill. So, Holly has been rescheduled for June 1. Great, I get to go through another sleepless night, worrying about my little girl!! Oh well, stuff happens!!
DH is not working the weekend! No kids expected home!! Looks like a good, quiet weekend for us! DH will help me with the housework tomorrow and mow (and then bale!) our yard tomorrow. Sunday, rain is expected (go figure!).
Holly and I spent yesterday in town. Getting groceries, returning some items and shopping. I did indulge and got a Cricut cartridge I have been wanting. Overall, a good day; but I was really tired and worn out by the time I got home. Still not 100% since surgery, but getting there.
Good Morning cruisemates! A big of warming, but showers throughout the day. Deciding if I'm going to risk a golf game. High might be 68F.
Will pop over to the hospital first to visit my mom. Things seem to be getting more stable there, and they've begun some rehab for her. We'd be lost at this point without her filipino care-giver. An angel!
Have to see the Best Buy guys.. who were transferring my files to a new desktop computer. I think the smoke in my office takes its toll on desk tops.
The new HP is cool though... touch screen. Computers have certainly come way down in price.
Good morning from a rainy and sleepless Minnesota.
We have the kids for the next five days while their parents do seminars in Kansas City. The bad part is that my grandson is sick. It was a relatively sleepless night for Betty and me. He was feverish and also major GI problems that required multiple trips to the bathroom and a clean up of the bed. I feel sorry for the little guy. He's laying next to me now watching cartoons. His fever is down to 100.1 so he may be on the recovery.
Nothing planned for today except taking care of the little guy and playing with my granddaughter. Betty and her are now designing a dress and grandma will make a pattern for her and they'll put the creation together.
I hope everyone has a fabulous Friday and wonderful weekend.

"Supposedly" the sun will be out...we shall see. Today is Lucy day, so who cares. This girly girl, is so funny. Bought her some clothes, and she acts like a teenager in the mirror..I had to shorten some of the dresses for her, as she is a tiny little slip of a girl...
Haimia, your baby Holly got a reprieve..I remember when you got her... not that long ago. So glad she turned ito your best pal. Hope you will be 100% soon!
Kuki, hope your Mom is home soon....Mike, hoping your little one is ok soon.
Make it a good one.
Trip, with her book & tea!

After a week of rain it seems to be a dry day (so far).
Mike I hope that your grandson feels better quick.
Our big plan for the weekend is to have lunch with Henry43 and his DW.
Have a nice weekend everybody.

Today is packing and finishing up day. Have a thousand and one things to do an I've started a list. Leave tomorrow for my brother's house and then Sunday morning DeAnna and I hit the road on Sunday heading North to Cleveland. Can't wait to meet Sue and her DH.
I feel so badly that I'm taking DeAnna away from her husband and family on her birthday but since the 23rd is her 40th birthday and it's only a day of tests and pre-ops I'm making plans for a big evening for her in Cleveland. On Tuesday, among one of the best Electrophysiologists in the world is again going to do his thing (Dr. Mohammed Kanj (an extremely charismatic tall man in his late thirties to around forty from Lebanon) but this time I'm taking Mike's route and asking him to knock me out as me thinks there's a lot of work he's going to have to do. He's known throughout the Cleveland Clinic as "The Electrician" because Ablations are the only thing he does, one after another after another. The one big thing for me is that I'll be out of the house and able to regroup.
Things having not been going well for me either emotionally (I'm weeding myself off some of my medications) and physically so I think this is exactly the break I need. I must get out of the house for awhile. I can't wait until next month or July when my wife's Niece Adeladie, DeAnna and Fran's "adopted daughter" start cleaning out Fran's things. Also a friend who contracts to pick up my garbage are coming in to do some cleaning. After the house is cleared I'm goind to have a professional crew come in and do everything to the nth degree. This should allow me to keep the house up to the standards Fran did by having in someone only once a month if it's necessary. Hopefully, I'll get enough back to avoid that but at least I'm budgeting for it.
There are some things I would like to do and my time is rather severely limited so I'm going to start making plans. My bucket list includes going to New Orleans with Adelaide as she has always wanted to go to Memphis and then hook up with Venice of whom I think the world prior to going to Siesta Key off Sarasota and spending a few days at least at Ad's gorgeous condo there. I then want to go to London to the Imperial War Museum and then to the Isle of Man and finally to Normandy. I won't have to pay for hotels anywhere in the British Isles and probably not even Normandy so that will help. While in New York before I leave, I want to visit the grave of the man who was my mentor who died right after Fran and I couldn't go to the funeral, I want to meet Henry and I MUST have Brother's Pizza on Staten Island. I also want to go back to the famous Beef House in New York, Gallagher's, which I love. Also, I'm considering within the next year, a visit to a small town outside of a huge Army Base in Texas. Hmmmm.......wonder who that could be.
At least I've lost weight and this morning weigh forty three pounds less than in December when I went to Orlando. I now weigh less than when I retired and I moved here in '96. I'll call my cardiologist and friend Jeff as soon as I am able to use the phone and give him a report.
I hope to report in occasionally over the next six days and I hope everyone has a marvelous weekend!
Of course, Prayers and Blessing requests continue.
