Morning Mates, I can't believe it's Wednesday already - my free week is flying by!
It is another stellar weather day here in Pictou County, hard to believe, but true. Yesterday in Halifax it got up to 34C, which is off my chart here, but I think close to 95F!!
Today is supposed to be upwards of 29C or 84F, but with the humidex, probably the same as yesterday. I wanted heat and now I got it!
We did not go to Peggy's Cove after all, decided it was too far for one day when we have to be home for the pets, so we will plan a weekend some other time. Instead we went to the Halifax pier where we rain into thousands of tourists debarking rom the Carnival Glory!
We enjoyed a nice lunch on the waterfront, a delicious Beaver Tail, and bought some lobster-themed souvenirs for Pictou's Loster Carnival coming up this weekend.
Again, pictures on facebook, can't figure out how to re-size them for the CM gallery on this new computer...will keep trying...
Todd, just wanted to ask how you're feeling today after your double tumble? Take it easy buddy, and try not to be such a klutz! ;-)
Donna, it sounds like you a wonderful day out. Hope you enjoy today.
Had another busy day yesterday. The guy from the caregiver agency came and we filled out paperwork. Will have a new caregiver two afternoons a week starting next week. We'll see how it works out, but I already like this outfit much better than the last. I just hope dad does not blow it. He does not want anyone to do anything for him but me...but then he lacks insight into the fact that he has dementia. So, for now we've just got the caregiver down for companionship.
RD for some reason vacation weeks seem to fly by! Hope you are enjoying your free time.
Been busy morning already for me. I have the house picked up and now looks liveable. Laundry in, where does it all come from? Now to do some office work. My grandaughters will be here later so I have filled the little kiddie pool so the sun can be warming it up. It is small but the girls really have fun splashing around in it to cool down.
I've got a little office work to get done before I can play. D/H is out on the golf course this morning. He is so enjoyig this retirement thing. Just hope when cold weather hits he finds something to do. I know I have several indoor projects for him if I can get him motovated.
Tonight is my night to take Mom to her weekly Bingo game. Due to her eye problems she can't see the numbers all that well so one of us has to go with her to help her. I'm just glad she still wants to go, it is about all she really enjoys doing. I think it is as much the social aspect as playing the game.
Todd, I too hope you are doing ok after your falls. Take it easy.
Everyone have a good day and enjoy the summer weather cause it will be gone before we know it.
Good Morning CruiseMates!
Well its been a very good day thus far. I feel good today, I woke up a little lighter and already took a 3 mile bike ride this morning. I am almost caught up on laundry again and in about an hour we're heading down near Cayuga (I don't expect too many of you will know where that is) to meet up with a couple of the kids old friends from school many years ago, so they can play and have a great time. They may even go swimming in the river. We're definitely going to have a picnic and that should be lots of fun.
So I had better get moving, I have to pack a picnic lunch, fun times!
Just waiting for Betty (Coyote Killer) to get out of the shower. Then we are off to pick up her car at the body shop as soon as SIL arrives. We will need to return the Hyundai Santa Fe first and then pick up the car. We need the SIL to follow us and we all return in the other car. It is a PITA when only one of us drives.
I see everyone is being very active today, except Kuki , and I hope everyone has a great day.
